Man City 7/20 Draw 4/1 Dortmund 13/2

City also came up against German opposition in the shape of Gladbach in the Round of 16 and they secured a comfortable passage through in winning both legs staged in Budapest by a 2-0 scoreline. City remain unbeaten in this competition this season having come through the group stage with 5 wins and 1 draw and they have conceded just 1 goal (in a 3-1 home win over Porto on Matchday 1).

As far as the Premier League is concerned it's pretty much race over with City 14 points clear, they are still in the FA Cup and have a League Cup final to look forward to as they hunt for 4 possible trophy's this season.

In the outright betting to win the Champions League City are currently favourites, trading at around 9/4.

Dortmund came through a high scoring Round of 16 clash with Sevilla with a 5-4 aggregate win. They won the first leg in Spain 3-2 and they were 2-0 up in the return before Sevilla fought back for a 2-2 draw. The in form Erling Haaland scored 4 of their 5 goals against the La Liga side. Dortmund's only defeat in this competition came at Lazio (3-1) on Matchday 1 of the group stage. They recovered to top the group with 4 wins and 1 draw.

Dortmund are currently fifth best in Bundesliga 1 all of 21 points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.

In the outright betting to win the tournament Dortmund can be backed at around 25/1.

Verdict:

City's form continues to be sensational and although Dortmund are a talented outfit I think they will struggle to hold out. City to score either 2 or 3 goals in the first leg and De Bruyne “anytime” are my picks.

Bets: Home team multigoals 2-3 at 9/10

Anytime goalscorer De Bruyne at 2/1

Real Madrid 17/10 Draw 21/10 Liverpool 31/20

Real sealed a quarter final spot with a 4-1 aggregate win over Atalanta. In the first leg they eventually made their numerical advantage count, scoring the only goal of the late on in game where Atalanta played with 10 men since the 17th minute. Real then finished the job with a 3-1 win in the return. Real's home form in the group stage started with a shock defeat to Shakhtar (3-2) but they recovered to beat Inter and Gladbach (both 2-0).

Real are still involved in the La Liga title race and they are now just 3 points shy of of Atletico who top of the standings.

Real were knocked out by Manchester City on away goals in last season's Champions League Round of 16 and in the outright betting to lift the trophy this season they can be backed at around 10/1.

Liverpool won both legs of their Round of 16 clash with Leipzig by a 2-0 scoreline with Salah and Mane on target in both matches which were staged in Budapest. Their only defeat in this competition this season came in the group stage at home to Atalanta when they fielded a much changed line up.

Since the Round of 16 Liverpool have made up some ground in the race to finish in the top 4 of the Premier League with wins at Wolves (1-0) and Arsenal (3-0). However at the time of writing they were still 2 points shy of fourth placed Chelsea and if they miss out in that regard then their only route into this competition next season will be to win it this time around.

This is a repeat of the 2018 final which Real won 3-1.

In the outright betting to lift the trophy Liverpool are trading at around 6/1.

Verdict:

Liverpool have been excellent away from home sin the EPL and in this competition but as the match result betting suggests this looks likely to be a close first leg and my preference is for the draw.

Bets: 1st leg match result, draw at 24/10
