Two more Uefa Champions League Round of 16 first legs take place on Tuesday night when Atletico Madrid host Chelsea and Lazio are at home to defending champions Bayern Munich

Atletic Madrid 1.55/1 Draw 21/10 Chelsea 18/10
Atletico were distant runners up to Bayern Munich in their group. They had to shake off Salzburg to secure the runners up spot with Lokomotiv Moscow finishing bottom of the quartet. Atletico managed just 2 wins in the group stage alongside 3 draws and the sole defeat came in Munich. Atletico were unbeaten at home, edging out Salzburg 3-2, held by Lokomotiv 0-0 and then drawing 1-1 with Bayern who were already assured of a top 2 finish.
Atletico continue to set the pace in La Liga, 3 points clear of Real with a game in hand but they were beaten 2-0 at home by Levante at the weekend, only their second league defeat of the season.
Chelsea topped their group ahead of Sevilla with Krasnodar someway back in third and Rennes a remote fourth. Chelsea were unbeaten with 4 wins and 2 draws and the pick of their results came in Spain when they thrashed Sevilla 4-0. Earlier Chelsea had drawn 0-0 at home to the Spanish side and 4 subsequent wins had qualification in the bag before a 1-1 with Krasnodar in a dead rubber on Matchday 6.
In the Premier League Chelsea are unbeaten since Thomas Tuchel took over with 4 wins and 2 draws to move back into contention for a top 4 finish. They have conceded just twice in those 6 league games although at the weekend they had to settle for a 1-1 draw at Southampton.
The last meeting between the teams came in the 2017/18 group stage and Chelsea won 2-1 in Madrid before a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.
In the outright betting to lift this trophy Atletico are trading at around 12/1 and Chelsea can be backed at around 18/1.
Verdict:
I can see this tie being tight over the 2 legs but I do think we will see goals and 2-3 in total gets my vote for the first leg which looks a wide open betting heat. For an anytime goalscorer pick I will speculate with the excellent Mason Mount to pop up for Chelsea.

Lazio 4/1 Draw 3.25/1 Bayern Munich 0.57/1
Lazio secured their place in the knockout rounds after finishing as runners up to Dortmind. A spirited effort from Club Brugge meant they had to dig deep to qualify whilst Zenit were very disappointing in finishing fourth. A 3-1 home win over Dortmund on Matchday 1 was the pick of their results and both teams found the net in all 6 of their group matches. Lazio are in decent form in Serie A with 7 wins and 1 defeat (3-1 at Inter) in their last 8 league games and they are in and around the top 4 places.
Bayern breezed through their group unbeaten with 5 wins and 1 draw. The defending champions set the tone with a 4-0 home win over Atletico on Matchday 1 and the only points dropped came in the return in Madrid (1-1) when they had already bagged 4 straight wins.
Bayern were involved in the Fifa Club World Cup recently, a tournament they won and they also top the Bundesliga ahead of Leipzig despite dropping points of late, most recently in a shock 2-1 defeat at Frankfurt at the weekend.
In the outright betting to lift this trophy Bayern are trading at around 7/2 (2nd favourites behind Manchester City) and Lazio can be backed at around 150/1.
Verdict:
The Club World Cup exploits and the close proximity of this match may offer an excuse for Bayern dropping points in recent Bundesliga games but although Lazio are capable of causing them problems I think we will see normal service resumed here.
Bayern to win a game of 3 goals or more in total is my play.
