Chelsea 12/10 Draw 22/10 Atletico Madrid 23/10

A super second half goal from Giroud has Chelsea in charge from the first leg. Chelsea's 1-0 win was staged in neutral Bucharest but the return is at Stamford Bridge, strengthening Chelsea's chances of reaching the last 8.

Chelsea were unbeaten with 4 wins and 2 draws and the pick of their results came in Spain when they thrashed Sevilla 4-0.

Chelsea's Premier League form is rock solid and they remain unbeaten under Thomas Tuchel with 6 wins and 4 draws in league games and they have conceded just twice in that sequence.

Atletico were distant runners up to Bayern in the group stage but they continue to set the pace in La Liga, 6 points clear of Real Madrid although Barcelona could get within 4 points of them if they win their game in hand early this week.

The last meeting between the teams came in the 2017/18 group stage and Chelsea won 2-1 in Madrid before a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge.

Verdict:

Atletico have to score to have any chance of going through and that is no easy task against Chelsea right now. However we should see an improved display from the Spanish side who were very cautious in Bucharest.

Backers of under 2.5 goals have been toasting Chelsea since the new coach came in, on paper this should be another tight game but the fact that it's the second leg also needs consideration and I'm bot confident about calling the goals markets.

After giving this some consideration I think the 90 minute draw could be a runner.

Bets: 90 minutes, Match result draw at 22/10

Bayern Munich 1/3 Draw 4/1 Lazio 7/1

This tie looks as good as over after Bayern won the first leg 4-1 in Rome. They were 3-0 up by half time with Lewandowski and Sane among the scorers and youngster Jamal Musiala was also on target, An own goal put Bayern 4-0 up early in the second half before Lazio's consolation.

Bayern breezed through their group unbeaten with 5 wins and 1 draw and they also top the Bundesliga, 4 points clear of Leipzig.

Lazio were in decent form in Serie A coming into the first leg but they have since slipped out ofg the top

Verdict:

The markets point to a comfortable Bayern win but given they are 4-1 up already the gloss comes off this one as a betting proposition. Unless Lazio somehow get back into the tie early doors it could be a breeze for Bayern. Perhaps wait for the line ups but if he starts this could be another opportunity for Leroy Sane to get on the scoresheet again, anytime

Bets: Anytime goalscorer Leroy Sane at 23/10
