What a shambles. Just don't see how you can take times from a point in the race where none of the riders were aware of that possiblity. Only solution is to neutralise the whole stage. Anything else is totally unfair.

Ah all bets void today and disappointing as match bets were cruising in

Worse news they have shortened tomorrows stage to 59km and I reckon that damages Buchmann podium and Alaphilippe missing top 3

Guys , with yesterday’s stage being stopped and today only 59km i would assume that Romain Bardet has a good chance to hold onto the KOM shirt? (have him @33/1)

Yes he has an excellent chance and is around 6/10 I think - I think he has to avoid Bernal winning the stage - if Bernal wins it is hard to see Bardet scoring and he could lose

My main focus today will be on hoping Ala is dropped from top 3 and that Buchmann somehow rides onto the podium

Bernal once again a worthy fav for the stage but I am looking to oppose him

0.5 u Quintana win at 20/1
1 unit Thomas win at 13/2

Main focus will be match bets

1 u Thomas 15/10 over Bernal
2 u Valverde over Alaphilippe at 12/10
2 u Martin/Gaudu at 11/10
2 u Valverde- Martin double 3.63/1
1u the treble at 10.5/1 at WSB

Reasoning in the video preview

Really bad day for me yesterday. Lost my 18/1 on Pinot - had added S Yates for stage at 6/1. He was damn annoyed that they had not told him the race finished at the top of the second last climb otherwise he would have gone over ahead of Bernal and the bet was placed with the only book who has decided to pay out on those results - so no refunds for me. Two for me today and will be joining Brent on all the match bets/doubles and treble.
S Yates @ 29/4
Thomas @ 15/2

Thank goodness for Ala finally blowing - needed that big time. Great stuff Brent for sticking to your guns on that punt.I also took some of Bernal to podium when they went into the Pyrenees so the tour was saved somewhat from a betting perspective though the stages bled me dry and only a Nairo or Pinot win could have gotten me back into black.

On the Fantasy front I pulled a Pinot and the admin okes alao didnt help me at all with their call on the Stage 19 result... As I see it I probably need a Groenewegen win tomorrow to have any chance of finishing on the top step!

Thanks for the previews BG and the lekker chats on here gents:beer

Probably pick several match bets as the day progresses but one outright for me. This finish is perfect for Kristoff's ability so hold power for 400m. Last five editions he has finished 1/5/3/3/2
Top 3
Kristoff @ 22/10
Like Brent I lost my Thomas/Bernal match bet yesterday when Thomas nudged Bernal over the line. Maybe we get the same from Ineos today which makes the odds at WSB look good
Bernal over Thomas @ 2/1
If in doubt you can cover this as most books have this match-up at 17/20 choice.

Bernal lands my biggest cycling bet for some years. Not a sport I bet too seriously on but last weeks punt before the mountains was part gut feel and part just inspired by all the thoughts and previews on this thread.

Shot for all the input lads help make it a very profitable tour for me.

Great sprint and great tour from Caleb

Money back for Groen thankfully - overall a 9 unit loss on the thread and a decent 3rd week recovery - did lay Ala for the win through Coils Betfair so managed to show a profit at least

Well done Bernal backers and roll on the Vuelta

Par course was very good and made this tour one of the best in the last 20 years. Made a tiny profit on the stages but, like the Giro, lost on the outrights when my normal bad luck kicked in. The Nibali stomach bug put him in the grupetto for a few days - The Pinot withdrawal - The shortened stage which would have put Yates within 6 points of KOM and probably would have won over a faltering Bardet - Direct Energy missing a 33 man break (and Cofidis putting 3 in said break) and wearing the whole team out chasing etc. On the bright side I did learn from the Giro and had substantially less moola on outrights this year so not that crippling a klap.
Thanks to everyone for the posts and I vote for South to pick the winner of the Vuelta.
