Nice start with the Dragons - lets hope it keeps going the right way. Reckon Warriors have a good shot of doing the job for us tomorrow. To be honest I can seen Broncos shocking someone somewhere but at the same time they could snap out of their trans at some unexpected stage as well.

+8 on the storm, bookies got this one wrong,
Roosters are heavily off form, without Brett Morris these roosters can't score a try.
Storm very powerful and on song last week despite losing cam smith.
Should be Storm -5 or 6, will be getting onto this strong

I was also very surprised when I saw the line. Brett Morris and Jared Waerea-Hargreaves both out.
I have already taken a chunk of Storm outright

The plus at more than a converted try really is excellent value.

Storm +8
Warriors +20
Raiders -12
@ 4.49
Panthers have the talent to shred the Warriors by 30, which they could well do, but Warriors showing resilience in bucket loads recently.
Pretty confident on the other 2 legs.

If not for hughes' ommission i'd price this at -20-25 storm.
Yet +6 is a very solid bet if your going to have one.
Papenhauzen, addo-carr and olam should get the win, against an eels side that can't put teams away.
If sivo and Jennings are managed, should be a walk over, although expecting a much closer contest than against the Roosters

The Eels have been struggling to win for the past few weeks, and those matches weren't even against top teams.
The grit and determination that the Storm showed last week in their demolition of the Roosters, makes me take them at under two tries.
Bet: Storm +7.5 @1.90

Eels lost round, but it was a coin toss and St. George's coach's last game. Last rounds were close but don't forget it, that for example in wet conditions. Eels are full.

Eels have only scored more than 20 points once in their last 6 games.
Storm haven't conceded more than 20 at all in their last 6 games.
Eels total under 21,5 @1.96

The officiating was shocking in the Eels vs Storm game and the Eels play acting was just terrible!
Sorry I forgot to post earlier. I was on Panthers over 2.5 tries in 1st half again...they have been a really impressive first half team bringing lots and lots of energy as seen in today's game so far.

I'm always hesitant when bookies put a high total in a match played by two notoriously low scoring teams. There must be something about it, and when the bookies put a number higher than what we'd think, the total goes over. It happened in Super Rugby and other competitions too.
What's the catch, I wonder...
OK, nice weather on the Gold Coast, but these teams played in nice weather before too.
So I took this multi, with a higher under:
Bet 1: Raiders win + Under 49.5 @2.05
As a second bet I took the Titans to stay close. They've showed improvement in the past few weeks, staying close in their defeats to the Panthers (8 points), Roosters (6 points), beating the Cowboys (as any half decent team should), and last week, if it wasn't for Proctor's bite (of the hand that was not feeding him ) resulting in a red card, they may not have lost to the Sharks.
Bet 2: Titans +12.5 @1.85

Wakefield are turning to a lot of youngsters this week after getting smashed by the Dragons one week ago 58-0 (without Israel Folau who is back this week) in the league fixture.
The Catalan Dragons have put out a strong side for this cup fixture. They might not win by 50+ again but I expect them to put 20+ on a young Wakefield side who should get outclassed.
Bet: Catalan Dragons (-14) to beat Wakefield Trinity

It's been quite a while since I've been telling myself, but rarely listened to this inside voice of mine: "If the bookies put a higher total than you'd expect, there is a reason for that and you'd better follow it or don't play it"Quill wrote: Gold Coast Titans vs Canberra Raiders

I wasn't an NRL fan either, but I moved from Perth to Sydney a few years ago, and not only Sydney is both union and league country, but now I live near the Panthers stadium too!southpaw wrote: Unlucky quill. The Cowboys are 3rd from bottom with 7 consecutive defeats, only 2 wins in their last 12 matches since the resumption.
They did beat today's hosts at the end of June, but since then they've gone on a 7-match losing streak, while the Knights are 4W-3L.
The Knights are sitting 7th on the ladder, inside the top 8 play-off zone, at a fairly comfortable distance from the chasing pack from 9th downwards (5 points - 2 points for the win).
The Knights play their 3rd consecutive home game, the previous two ended in wins, and there is nothing to suggest that they won't get the third in a row, especially with a limited number spectators allowed (a few thousand).
Bet 1: Knights -9.5 @1.91
Bet 2: Knights total team points Over 26.5 @1.75
Bet 3: Time of 1st Newcastle Knights Try - Before 10'59" @1.80
Bet 4: Time of 1st Try - Before 7'59" @1.77

Rabbits +10
Warriors +12
Cowboys +14
Tigers +20
Storm -6
@ 9.70
And seperate punt on the Warriors +8 @ 1.91
They've been ultra tough in recent weeks and with Harris-Tavita in and Blake Green out for the Knights, reckon they're a good chance to win here

Although the Eels have been winning, they struggle to put teams away and even to get their wins. Against a severely depleted Melbourne Storm they won only 14-0, with only 2 points scored in the second half when Melbourne had a player sin binned too.
Bet: Rabbitohs +6.5 @1.91.

Before this I had never watched a rugby league game - it's great...no scrums, no line outs, etc etc, and you don't even know there is a ref on the field.
Best of all - pre-match bookie handicaps are as irrelevant as in union - pick the correct side and you can punt some nice odds against shots

The Dragons are still in with a chance for the play-offs, while the Titans have only 4 wins in 15 matches and the second leakiest defence in the league.
The Dragons have now won two in a row, and they look better under their new coach. Matt Dufty and Zac Lomax are in great form for them, and after nearly botching last week's win against the Broncos (the team that everybody beats), I expect them to cover the handicap here and score a plenty too.
