So dont get me wrong - I am very much shouting the Canes home here lads

Stuck your neck out with the article CC and that's what i like, didn't hide your opinion. (B) But be prepared for a wave of more comments! :silly:

Brent Graham wrote: Guys what is situation with Sharks now - if they beat Lions off to New Zealand but if they lose off to Joburg?

Correct:

* Sharks win they go to Christchurch
* Lions win Sharks go to Joburg
* Drawn Match Sharks go to Christchurch

Reckon the Lions could have won the trophy thanks to less than a meter there as the scrumhalf came desperately close toward the end there.

Haha the Lions' fans are a very passionate bunch indeed South! Fortunately (or perhaps unluckily) I've had one in my family for the past 25 years :P Still feel the Lions would have had little to no chance of winning in Christchurch. But now the ball is very much in their court and the trophy is there's to lose ;)

Sharks have very little incentive to give it their all later as they will not want to travel to NZ

Force v Tahs under 47.5 pts @ 17/20, all over that in these conditions.

that is correct.

I think the combination of the above and the Lions now knowing they will have a home q,s &f means you will see a very determined lions team.

I had this bet capped at 7,5 before this info and now believe that 9,5 which is live is a huge value bet for me. Max bet Lions -9,5

Not good.. And Aso out as well, forces some considerable shuffling which I did not like so cashed out on canes 1 to 12 before kick off.

Bet you are regretting that decision. I missed these late changes and had already taken Canes 1-10.

Yeah pretty typical... would have been worse had the overs not come in. Think they were a bit lucky to get the win really

Last two games going
Stormers -3.5
Lions v Sharks over 49.5

confusing game, Sharks knew couldn't go 100% for win. I actually thought it would play out Lions taking a lead and Sharks getting a few tries late on with subs on, hence shirt buy. Not big damage and a cricket win leveled it out.

Side note - worst trio of commentators for one game i've ever listened too. Surely Supersport get feedback from viewers on these guys?

I am so sick of hearing how bad a system this Super Rugby is so I decided to soek a little and posted this comment on Planet Rugby and Stuff in NZ, it certainly makes for interesting thinking, I am a fish that swims the other way generally and felt that maybe I am right and they are wrong!!??

Amazing 4 NZ Teams made it into the Quarter Finals without having to play the Lions? Wow what a system, the only teams that deserve to be in the Top eight are the Stormers, Sharks and Brumbies!!?? WTF FUB!!?? What a farce

Absolutely never, ever worry about the stuff you cannot control!!

Must admit I do think the comp structure sucks - I base this less on the Lions not playing New Zealand teams this year than on a system that places the Brumbies in the top 4 despite the fact that they would have not finished in the top 8 based on points gained.

WP on the minus against Griquas in the Supersport challenge final later today - see there was some 3.5 earlier in the week and that is now -5.5

Can't have WP, Brent. Southern section was the weakest of the lot. I'm taking Griquas to win @ 7/4

Got to love the passion of the Oracle there! :)

I completely agree that I'm tired of hearing how unfair the current system is (incredible moaning coming from some sources). It was exactly the same last year and despite not being ideal I still believe the cream will rise to the top. The Lions deserve their home spot and the Crusaders fluffed their lines when it mattered most.

I must say though that Oracle is surely the only one who has uttered the words that the Brumbies deserve to be in the playoffs...! :pinch: :P

I've had enough of the Aussies that much I can tell you. Also the Stormers only had to face the might of the Lions once so they weren't really handicapped to the tune of 10 - 20 log points which is how far they ended behind the likes of the Crusaders, Canes and Chiefs.

The Lions have knocked over everything that has been put infront of them and if they can do it for 3 more weeks there can be no denying the fact that they would have deserved it completely!
