Ok lads another busy week of rugby ahead. As stated in last weeks thread the quality of posts on the forum has been great and thanks to all the contributors across a wide range of rugby from all over the world.

I had a very poor week in the end - chased a few losses on Sunday and ended up compounding them - hoping for better this time around

Below my handicap projections

Rugby Champs

NZ -18.5 v SA
Aus -10.5 v Argentina

I saw on the previous thread that these are up already and that there is -17.5 NZL and -13.5 Australia

Currie Cup

Griquas +6.5 v Sharks
Pumas +9.5 v WP
Lions -5.5 v Bulls

Pro 14

Kings +17.5 v Leinster
Cheetahs -16.5 v Zebre

WSB out with the Rugby Championship:

NZ -17.5 v SA
Aus -12.5 v Arg

Have taken both away sides on the plus.

NZ v SA being played at North Harbour stadium - not a strong hold like Auckland and I believe the Boks can keep things decent and think Pollard should get a role off the bench. Mackenzie actually struggled with the high ball and an improved kicking game will go a long way.

As for Argentina, they got properly under the All Blacks skin and with a couple of different decisions, like going for the corner instead of poles when Barret got carded, would have kept them in the game longer. I don't see Aus scoring a try with 14 and pulling away from Argentina in the same way as the AB's did.

I will take as much as I can get on the Sharks -6.5 if they offer that, Griquas the worst side in the competition, IMO. I would also take an outright all to come on Australia, NZ, WP, Sharks and Lions. Maybe we can get a bit over evens.

I had a chance to try capping the games prior to seeing lines today.

Canterbury V Counties
I had 10.5 but 17.5 is prob just the public perception factor. I think it is to many for a shield game but Canterbury has shown they are just ruthless.

Northland V North Harbor
Same, I had 3.5 vs the bookies 4.5

Southland V Auckland
I had Auckland -5.5. Auckland -15.5 is madness, If I was Oracle I would probably be calling for someone to be fired :silly:

Taranaki v BOP
I had Naki -7.5. Taranaki -13.5 is probably a reflection of their scoring ability and BOP has struggled vs some premiership teams. Taranaki's defense is as good as a kitchen sieve catching water.

Waikato V Manawatu
I had this Manawatu +3.5 bookies came out with +6.5.

Otago V Tasman
I had Otago as a 5.5 point favorite the bookies have come out with Otago +1.5. Otago just can't get no respect.

Good take on the matches.

Can't look past Canterbury though, have backed them every week and been a winner. Mostly in the 2nd half points market where there have been some generous 1/1's. Canterbury made 5 changes to their team as they have Wellies away on Sunday but still 1st choice half-backs and the big wing, Waqanibau, who I'll be backing as a ATS once the market is out.

Counties have Pulu back and Nanai-Williams have been good but other than that they don't offer to much for me. They play HB at home on Sunday and I think they will have one eye on that one to get back to winning ways (1/4). Their only win came when the referee stopped the Auckland match with 2 minutes to go with Auckland on their line.

Other stand-out is Southland +14.5 - They put up a good first half against Canterbury and then got their hiding. Auckland is the absolute worst, away even more so, so I'm in on the +.

15to10 at Betxchange for that outright all to come......put, put some more, and then a little bit more. Don't worry about the Pumas!

I can't see the All Blacks having another performance like they did last week. I can see some pain coming the Springboks way, happy to take the -17.5 at even money. Also Betxchange

Two cup games in Australia tonight.

Heidelberg vs Adelaide
Sydney FC vs Melbourne City

Adelaide and Sydney are supposed to win, so I'm taking a safer approach, being Cup games and with the possibility of extra time.

Canterbury (-6) alt handicap + Adelaide DC + Sydney DC @1.73

Very grateful that Canterbury is one of the few teams that puts away opponents in both halves. Was very worried at Half time (and kicking myself for holding back and not following any 1st half bets) as was waiting for the second half. Cantebury seems like one of the teams that will keep beating the handicap unless the bookies push the handicap very high for them.

When the bookies this side come out with the Currie cup I will be all over sharks on the minus handicap for first half (hoping for -3.5 or -4.5). The Griquas have been abissimal in the first half in the last 3 games that I can recall ( maybe more) and then try make a last gasp catchup over the second half and normally end up short and hoping they keep that trend up. I am sure though that sharks should cover the -8.5 as well, but think the half handicap is safer.

Thanks Murfin
The R35 means first team to reach 35 points – you normally have team A, team B or neither and sometimes I prefer to be on the safe side or increase the odd with a race than a over team points

Well done this morning on Canterbury lads, they're in a class of their own at the moment it seems.

Saw what I thought was a bit of value on Fridays Pro 14 game between Ulster and Scarlets, on the away team.
Got some Scarlets +3.5 which I see has now gone. Wouldn't surprise me if Scarlets actually started the game as favourites.
Yes they've had 2 easy fixtures in this campaign but they've smashed the cap comfortably in those. They have 2 returning B&I Lions (including man of the series Jon Davies) who will be involved in some form.
They'll have no fears about an away trip to Ireland after dispatching both Leinster and Munster in last year's semi and final.
Yes the game is at Ravenhill which is no easy place to go, but with the brand of rugby they are playing, plus Piutau and Marcel Coetzee both missing for Ulster, I expect them to win this fixture.

Thanks for that. It's actually the Zebre game that interests me most though. Griquas would probably get around +14.5 travelling to Bloemfontein so really struggling to comprehend why Zebre are getting +28.5. I can't imagine Zebre would play a weakened team either, these next two games will be the easiest and best chance of a win they have all season so I'm sure they'll give them a full go. Anyway I've taken +28.5 and some 16/1 win outright in the hope their full team arrives at the game and any confirmation of their will strength team will see me load up on the plus.

Listen fellas, let's not beat around the bush.....this All Blacks -17.5 is a gift. There is no way that the Springboks will come within 25 points of the men in black.....(i'm a Springbok supporter by the way). I will try and get one of those All Blacks to win by 35 or more bets too. I see a big hiding coming!

Tevita Li anytime at 6/4 for North Harbour

Will sleep on it but likely to add Stevenson anytime 15/8 and NH over 29 points

Are Zebre sending their under 18's to play the Cheetahs, -27.5?

Same goes for Leinster?

Squad that traveled to SA looks quite strong despite the injured players

Leinster have released a statement regarding their South Africa tour squad, with two players having visa problems at O.R. Tambo Airport.

The team landed in South Africa ahead of their two games, against the Kings and Cheetahs, but have revealed there have been complications.

"Leinster Rugby can confirm that two members of the touring squad to South Africa, Isa Nacewa and Jamison Gibson-Park, encountered visa issues this morning upon arrival in Johannesburg," read a statement.

"As this process is still ongoing, Leinster Rugby will be making no further statement."

New Zealanders Isa Nacewa and Jamison Gibson-Park encountered what were termed "visa issues" at Johannesburg's OR Tambo airport on Wednesday.

Hours after revealing that the two Kiwi players encountered visa issues, Leinster confirmed that the pair will return to Ireland.

I had this morning Mitre game in my radar since monday for a big over but the closer to tha game, the less confident I am - weather is good, 2 good teams playing open game so still going with

Over 6.5 tries @ 1.72
Any team to score 3 unanswered tries - no @ 1.95

If someone sees an open game as I did earlier this week, I might go on the over 57.5 points

Very much along the same lines with you.

Here are my bets:
1. Over 6.5 tries @1.62
2. Over 56.5 points @1.81 pinnaclesport
3. NH over 3.5 tries @1.65
4. NH to win (-3.0) @1.84 pinnaclesport

Northland may have had a great start to the season, but so did North Harbour.
The difference is NH is a Premiership team, and Northland's wins came against weaker opposition.
