Hammers have had a shocking start and wont get many easier opportunities to open their account. 11/10 is available and I have had a strike.

On a side note, I see Deboer fired at Palace after yesterdays defeat. A disgusting decision taken by a prick of a Chairman and I wouldn't even spit on the c*nt. If ever players needed to be held to account this is it. I truly hope that they get relegated.
If there are odds offered, I'm interested

Crystal Palace have been flirting with relegation in recent seasons and have been baled out on two occasions by the wise old heads of Pulis and Allardyce. They have now decided to appoint Frank de Boer to manage their team of under achievers. de Boer played for many years for Ajax and he started his managerial career there. He understood the club. His first steps into the unknown were at Inter where he lasted exactly 85 days and has been unemployed since then. Certainly not a CV I would consider if I owned Palace.

To be relegated
Crystal Palace @ 9/2 two units

Catsmug I truly hope that your wish comes true

UEFA Champions League 2017 - 2018
I believe this years competition could throw up some surprises. Real Madrid have not bought a new "Galactico" and they were refereed past Bayern Munich in last years quarters. Bayern Munich player's are complaining about the lack of quality and Ancellotti is pretty short odds to be fired come January. Barca have lost Neymar ( not replaced ) and were handed three footballing lessons last season by Man City, PSG and Juve. PSG with a for and against record in eight games last year of 18 - 13 have gone and spent a fortune on two strikers and a mid fielder ( and an average defender Yuri ) go figure.
Pep at Man City has spent 130 million pounds on defenders since last seasons for/against of 18 - 16 in eight games and Sevilla have bought two strikers and an attacking mid fielder since last seasons for/ against of 9 - 6 in eight games.
I think the Chelsea first team are well organised and have the mid field creativity to trouble any side ( depth on bench is a problem ) but if they get to the last eight Konte will field the full first team and they must have a chance.

My 10 pre tournament units are going to

Napoli @ 28/1 1.5 units ( finished top of their group last time out but drew Real Madrid in the last 16)
Sevilla @ 40/1 1.5 units
Chelsea @ 16/1 2.5 units
Man City @ 9/1 4.5 units

Not much under the exotics here in SA. Leipzig were the "Leicester" of Germany last season and they are drawn in the weakest group. Leicester won their group last season ( which included Porto ) so just the one bet for me

Group G winner Leipzig @ 24/10

WHM are at home for the first time this season and I expect them to put up a decent performance. I like Mackem's pick of WHM over 1.5 goals but I need to practice my arithmetic skills so will be taking

Down in the National League North (England - Tuesday) I am really surprised that Harrogate are not favourites at Southport. The home side seem to have come off the rails in their last 2 games against Stockport and Kidderminster. After their 6-0 thumping of Southport, Stockport returned to type losing away from home on Saturday. After two tepid home draws Kidderminster, without 4 first team regulars, then proceed actually to score 3 goals in a game and keep a clean sheet. Says how poor Southport were, since conceding 9 goals without reply to the likes of Kidderminster and Stockport is hardly a ringing endorsement.

Harrogate had a couple of disappointing results against high flyers Brackley and Salford but showed they are still in pretty fair form with a 5-1 drubbing of Telford on Saturday. Harrogate seem to be meeting Southport at just the right time and 15/8 looks a massive price (totesport/Betfred) to me. I also feel 9/2 on the handicap (-1 Harrogate) is good value (Coral, Stan James, Ladbrokes).

Two cup games in Australia tonight.

Heidelberg vs Adelaide
Sydney FC vs Melbourne City

Adelaide and Sydney are supposed to win, so I'm taking a multiple with a safer approach, being Cup games and with the possibility of extra time.

Canterbury (-6) alt handicap + Adelaide DC + Sydney DC @1.73

Sydney are at least as good as last year, and their coach says they'll be even better.
At home Sydney have been dominant and now they are facing a Melbourne City team that is not at their best. There have been some changes made to the team in the off-season, but for tonight they don't have their main goalscorer, Fornaroli.

Sydney to win @1.70

After the big wins last night, I'm gonna have a go at some correct scores:

Madrid 6-0 13/1 0.4 units
Madrid 7-0 20/1 0.3 units
Madrid 8-0 40/1 0.2 units
Madrid 9-0 90/1 0.1 units

All at Betfair, wish I'd placed them last night as all have fallen a bit since then

Looking at this evenings Champions League I just see too many low score draw potential matches so am going to resort to a spread

Real Madrid over Apoel buy @ 3.4 goals

The bookies don't seem to be learning the lesson that Southport are in freefall, as they have been made odds on favourites at home to Bradford Park Avenue tomorrow. Both sides play in the 6th tier of English football (National League North), although tomorrow's match is actually the 2nd qualifying round of the FA Cup when some real minnows come up against a few full-time professional clubs.

Southport started the league season well but have conceded 13 goals in their last 3 matches scoring only from the penalty spot once themselves. By contrast Bradford PA have gone 7 games undefeated in this league, winning 4 of those. Obviously a Cup tie can put a different dynamic on a team's attitude, but Southport are so poor defensively that they have to be taken on again. There are several bookies going above 2/1 (I've taken 12/5), and Bradford PA are also worth taking at 13/2 on the -1 handicap.

Chelsea to beat Arsenal outright @ 0.85 is an absolute gift. Played at Stamford Bridge, the likes of Hazard returning for Chelsea and a shorter turnaround time for Arsenal after playing Cologne (and numerous other reasons), all point to a convincing Chelsea victory.

Agree on your sentiments pertaining to a Chelsea win. Just note that the short turnaround for the Gunners would hardly have an impact given that Arsenal did not play a full strength outfit in Europe midweek, suggesting they were targetting this game as their priority.

Similar approach, Morata first goalscorer @ 3.25 and Chelsea to beat the -1 handicap @ 1.8.

A rather useless stat but this does not happen very often. Not one London based Premiership side scored this weekend.

West Brom 0-0 WEST HAM
TOTTENHAM 0-0 Swansea
CHELSEA 0-0 ARSENAL

I was sadly high on shirts in that Spurs game (but also the City game so not all bad)

A fixed odds interest - home team (United) over 2.5 goals 15/10

Everton set up to defend but I think they will battle to keep United out
