Hi all,

We are testing a new competition and if anyone eligible can help with this weekend it would be appreciated.

The weekly prize is a share of 10k worth of betting vouchers, kindly sponsored by SportingbetSA and you will need to have an account with them to be eligible for any prize.

The mechanic involves calling handicaps for all matches in any given round correctly. You can enter here

A full list of rules and T&C's are available here

I must stress we are in trial mode right now and any feedback most welcome to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

Many thanks and good luck

Evening all,

First time post but I intend to stick around and throw in my opinions. I watch a hell of a lot of Super Rugby and punt it every weekend pretty successfully. Not too interested in the handicaps as I feel that the bookies usually have a very accurate read on those. I tend to multi up on the shorter prices and go heavy on an even money treble for example.

This weekend I have Highlanders, Lions, Hurricanes paying 0.96/1 with 365

I am for my sins, an avid follower of all things Auckland Blues. Looking at the teams for this week my major concern is their pack, you can have 6 Reiko Ioanes in the back line but if you have no platform you're going nowhere. 11 injuries going into day 1, that's some pre-season on the dunes.

Fairly uninspiring front row, although reasonably experienced. Parsons would surely be in Europe by now, but it's likely nobody wants him. Very uninspiring locks, I'm very disappointed to see Tuipulotu only on the bench, C-T / Scrafton are workmanlike but lightweight and lack the bulk to penetrate at this level (as seen last season). Huge issue in the back row missing 4 regulars, was really looking forward to seeing Papalii after his performance in the 10s, but even he is injured. Akira Ioane isn't the kind of guy to be taking on extra workload either... can see the more experienced Highlanders securing some fairly routine set piece front foot ball in comparison, and they don't lack for finishers in their backs.

Interesting to see how Gatland handles the dreaded 10 jersey, third choice 5/8... and I don't particularly rate the two in front of him. Think he will be a no frills steady Eddie, which may keep it close but come up short against Lima, who usually enjoys himself under the roof... as you can probably tell, I don't rate many of our players, and the same goes for Duffie / Collins. Lightweight and have zero X factor.

One thing I can guarantee you all. Tevita Li will score against his old team, just like all the other ex Blues boys do when they go and improve somewhere else haha!

Lions are a penalty kick at home to the Jags who will need to improve on their 50% tackle success rate last week to get within 20 points.

A little less convinced by the Hurricanes having seen their lineup, but if it gets squeaky Barrett is on the bench to get us all out of the sticky stuff. Still think the NZ intensity and offloading game will be far too much for the Bulls.

Didn't particularly want to get stuck into anything else, watching brief on the Aussie teams who could be anything at this stage. Although I'd expect the Tahs to win.

Feel free to convince me otherwise about the Blues, and if anyone wants to tip me over the edge about England at Murrayfield I may well add that in to make a 4 fold!

Good luck to all!

Guys apologies for the delay in announcing the prize winners, going forward you will get an e-mail on the Monday if you are a winner. You need to respond to the e-mail with your Sportingbet account number and we will arrange the credit.

This week 4 players got 7/7 and win a R1000 voucher each

9 players got 6/7 and qualify for R400 each

There will also be 20 lucky draw winners at R120 each - these will be confirmed later in the week.

Well done to the winners and next week's comp is open - CLICK HERE

Not sure how many have picked it up but the handicaps change so if you have early fancies it will pay to make your picks early before the caps shift.

Guys, apologies from Sportingbet, they have launched their new site and their are some teething problems, they are working on it and expect to have vouchers processed tomorrow.

Must say the 4 winners were all familiar names and all post regularly or occasionally on the forum

are the lines on the competition caps meant to move? I've only just realised.

eg. Sharks cap showing as -10.5.

ignore, just seen Brent mentions that in last post.

Does make it interesting. Tahs +10.5 for late entries, vs Sharks -5.5 for early ones, biggish middle were both punters could end up happy.

yeah also the lions have gone down in the market started @ - 10.5 now only -7.5 some of the markets have moved in the right direction while some others the other way so i am guessing its a 50/50 call do you wait or go in early with your picks

After the first two matches I thought my chances were gone, but got a mail last night saying I was a lucky draw winner - very happy with that even after a poor weekend on the betting front. So thank you to GFTG and Sportingbet (B) (B) (B)

Just a quick question regarding one's selections. Does the cap shift as game gets closer to kick off thus making earlier selections null and void. Noticed once I took early cap selections then checked my link closer to kick off, the caps had been adjusted but tean selection remained the same. Would be great if one's selections are emailed directly to the individual thus cementing the picks and not left wondering if they shift afterwards :)

Hi BB the picks are effectively frozen when you make them so although the line will shift this will not impact your picks - do you not get an e-mail confirmation after entering?

Hi BG,
Yeah I get an email confirmation but it's a link to my selections as opposed to an email with my picks if that make sense . Hence the confusion when I go to the link and the line has shifted lol. Glad to hear that one's initial selections are the one's that are implemented though! :)

Thanks for entering!

Problem is when you click on the link thats supposedly your picks. The lines have adjusted haha
Would'nt it be less complicated if we were just sent our selections directly to our email without a link involved?

Feedback as requested:

Just made my picks for the week but the confirmation email I received no longer has a link to what your picks were. The emailer template seems to change each time and you can't see half the information anyway.

I also see if you pick all the games correctly you only get R250 vouchers. Original mechanics now seem to have changed and the share of R10K worth of vouchers only applicable to NEW account holders??

Losing interest to be honest! :S
