First nugget: Georgia U20'S lost their last prep match to an England Counties U20 team in Tblisi a fortnight ago. Difficult to assess exactly....but if they couldn't beat a representative side like that then they sure are going to struggle against the Boks....worth noting anyway....

First price to come out overseas is -30 for that Junior Bok vs Georgia game.
It's all about seeding in this Cup.How the teams are selected into their pools from the last tournament.
Then the 4th seed out of the 3 pools also gets a semi-final berth behind the 3 pool winners.

NZ are -63 vs Japan.
England -19 vs Argies ,suppose because Argies finished 11th last year.
France -17 vs Ireland
Italy -4 vs Scots
Australia vs Wales -10

What's tough on viewing in 2018 are three round robin games on at the same time.

Its always been like that. Far and away the most ludicrously organized tournament on the planet. Maybe someone like The Oracle could send them the schedule for the FIFA World Cup footie with a little explanation " The world now has a seeing/talking screen called TV". Why not try joining the rest of us in the 21st century?

They last kind-of had three games simultaneously in 2013.Since then the games have been interspersed and last year there was only two venues in Georgia.
One huge change this year is no stand up tackle.I did notice players just running slap bang into each other last year, now the tackler has to bend at the waist.

In general, the bookies are very slow in coming out with prices. Saw PaddyPower just put up some lines:

England -19 v Argentina
Italy -4 v Scotland
South Africa -30 v Georgia
Australia -10 v Wales
France -17 v Ireland
NZ -63 v Japan

I have to say, based solely on pre-season warm-ups and six nations they look spot on.

Will have to see what WSB comes out with but at this stage I only fancy Australia. I'm also not sure what effect this new tackle rule will have - will we see a lot of penalties and so on? Would think the bigger teams would have had more time and thought going into to that - so teams like Georgia and Japan will probably struggle to adapt.

I also found some tournament odds from Ladbrokes Australia:
NZ 2/1
England 4/1
France 5/1
South Africa 5/1
Australia 17/1
Ireland 100/1
Italy / Scotland / Wales 250/1
Argentina / Georgia 500/1
Japan 1000/1

On the odds and groups - England probably expected to come out 1st, NZ 2nd, SA / France 3rd. 4th place is best loser like last year - Between Australia, SA, France for me.

I like the Baby Boks this year although they have a very tough group including France and Ireland

I think they will put Georgia to the sword and will take the -30.5

Hey gents,

Think there is great value in the Baby Boks to cover the cap tomorrow afternoon, Damian Willemse is going to win player of the tournament.

I will also be having a small at Scotland to keep within the cap and possibly win the game at 14/10.

Caps are dropping on few games and I will wait a bit longer before making any move as will be more interested in some over.
On top of it, there is a high risk of rain and even thunderstorm in the south of France but will try to post an update once it get closer to kick off

Bit disappointing that the bookmakers have generally fought shy of this tournament so far. Understandable perhaps, as their ricks usually come in the opening games. Hardly any tryscorer bets available.

One spread bet that appeals to me is a buy of the try minutes of the England substitutes against Argentina. This is priced at 53 to buy with Spreadex. I expect England to use their subs bench as fully as possible, so any try from the likes of Gabriel Ibitoye would yield profit.

Slightly tempted by skybet offering France with only a 14 point handicap with everyone else going -17 and above, but the patchy weather forecast and big pressure on the host side tempers enthusiasm.

Hi Cettas

For the Eng v Arg game in Narbonne, there is slight chance of rain but very hard to say at this time - its not raining at the moment

For the Sco v Ita game in Beziers, there is slight chance of rain but very hard to say at this time - its not raining at the moment - link to webcam below
www.beziers-in-mediterranee.com/en/valra...age-s-webcam-seaside

For the SA v Geo game in Perpignan, it should not rain- its not raining at the moment – link to webcam below
www.perpignantourisme.com/decouvrir/live...sthash.BVrIKmmv.dpbs

Looking at the cap it seems like bookies don’t expect any rain this afternoon

Looks like its gonna rain everywhere tonight

Also like that 20/1 on Aussie, Vann, they stand a good chance of the 4th seed place ,with Japan also in their group.

Phew  - England sub Marcus Smith scores at the death for a 27 points profit.

Wales have a nippy scrum half in Dane Blacker who is with Cardiff Blues. Hope he can do plenty of sniping against the Aussies and have taken 7/2 (Spreadex) for Blacker to score a try.

After looking at first 3 games today taking the underdogs on the plus handicap, on an accumulator at about 6.5 to 1.
So Italy, Wales and Ireland to beat their handicaps.

The best part about this comp is that each team is seeded after the pool play. NZ look certainties as top seed with a points differential of 99, England have 59 and SA on 19. I think SA will beat France so that should make the top 3 seeds, then the biggest battle will be for the 4th seed (Best placed 2nd team) and of those the Argies have the easiest matchup against Italy. Really fancy Argies minus!
