Given I price the game -6.5 I also like the look of the WP -3 (shortened to 8/10 now)

Need to make a move in Master Punter comp though so a bit reluctant to tie my funds up at this stage

WSB go -7.5 but see the +7.5 shortened to 8/10 - perhaps a few early birds looking for a middle

Would have taken WP -7.5. Happy with a single digit minus on WP.

Regarding the middle chasers. It's something I have never done and don't understand. 9 times out of 10 only one of your bets will come off and you make a small loss on the game. Not for me.

I put most of my Master Punter money on WP -3 now. I can't see WP losing the game and -3 is such a small handicap.

I'm firmly in the WP -3 camp! Agree with Hanrick that anything in single digits is great!

The regarding the middles ... GG had WP -24, rest had Griquas +30.5 ... WP win by 26 ;)

I dont get this whole "anything in single digits" is great story... Punters are being blinded by 30 superb minutes from WP last week. Fact is Province couldn't beat the cap against Griquas at home. And now they are without Ruban Nel as well as their Boks who played last week. Sharks have Coenie and Akker available. Both sides beat the Lions with room to spare.

Province play a nice open game but Sharks have more experience in their squad in key positions. Against a top opponent the Natalians will lift their game and I don't see them losing this by much in tight tussle.

Goodluck to all the Province backers!

I'm certainly not basing my call on 30 minutes against Griquas. I have been calling Western Province well this season and making my call on what I have seen from them the whole season. Also well aware of both teams' personnel sitauation.

"Double Digits Diemont" not loving the single digits story ... WP-3 is cracking value. WP are a really good side, home advantage and a big performance against the Sharks will see clinch a home final and one hand on the trophy.

WeePee jou lekker digits!

WP played 4 games. All 4 they beat their opponents by more than 25 points. They destroyed the Cheetahs in the rain and easily beat the Lions in Johannesburg, a place where they normally struggle.

The Sharks won all their home games by 16 points and then almost lost against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein. They beat the Lions easily in the rain which was very impressive.

WP beat the initial cap of -24 which I'm very happy about last weekend. They've been good value so far this Currie Cup.

WP was so far ahead at half time that it's no surprise that they went to sleep in the second half. I thought Griquas really played well by then but even then they struggled to score.

I can't see the Sharks staying close to WP to be honest. But I've been really bad at betting on the Sharks this year. I've been making money on WP and losing on the Sharks. When I back the Sharks they let me down and when I backed their opposition they played well.

It's going to be an interesting game.

Haha no disputing that -3 was slight value but don't see how that can be the case for -7.5 which is now available as well as the RB and Hanrick confidence in double digits...
Seems like I'm going to need the backing of South or hopefully Oracle to try and get a few more okes in the corner of the men in black and white.
If anything a play on unders on Sharks points is the better way to go since the WP defence was immense last week.
I can't wait to back the Natalians on the board at 2/1 once the RB and Hanrick money has inflated that price a bit more! :silly:

Southpaw reporting for duty. :) I do love a good old WeeePeee Sharks debate. Can see why WP -3 was the early value given later prices, but for me Sharks +10.5 @ 5/6 an absolute gift, just helped myself to that @ Sunbet.

Been busy to post but still keeping an eye on the Mitre 10 cup this is my current power ranking that is serving me well in the second half of the comp.

My lines for this week
Hawke’s Bay v Northland PK
Bay of Plenty v Manawatu -9.5
Auckland v Otago (DH) -17.5
Waikato v Southland (RS / DH) -27.5
Taranaki v North Harbour (DH) 13.5
Wellington v Tasman -4.5
Canterbury v Hawke’s Bay (DH) -18.5
Counties Manukau v Northland 6.5

Im closeish with the bookies except Naki V Harbour they have Naki as a -4.5 Favorite. Still a little perplexed by that. Perhaps I'm missing something, but its looking like ill punish that line this weekend.

Very similar to my ratings, except for Taranaki's performance last week holding Aukland to 1 in high scoring game. Improving side with home advantage gets my attention...

Although not as confident as you, so have taken the +5

Heavily invested in two games this Afternoon Southland +28.5 and Harbour SU and buying down as far as -10.5.

Southland V Waikato will be a shield game so previous form goes out the window. In this shithole of a season being the whipping boys of the mitre 10 cup. If they win this game it will make there season even if they win nothing else. If they win this game it will probably make up for the last 3 or 4 seasons. Ranfurley Shield just has an aura about it in grass roots NZ rugby. You have to believe they will put on their best performance of the season here.

Harbour V Naki This lines just wrong guys. Like really wrong. ........
