Last week was a crazy one with some massive in-running swings with the Reds, Lions and Scotland all coming from well back to either win or draw. There was also a draw in the Chiefs v Canes game.

Here are my projected week 6 handicaps - Coils caps are to the right and our bookie mate from Australia Rugby Sicko has also shared his in brackets on the far right

Blues +2.5 v Highlanders +4.5 (+4.5)
Hurricanes -11.5 v Stormers -6.5 (-18)
Waratahs +9.5 v Crusaders +10.5 (+12.5)
Sunwolves +6.5 v Lions +2.5 (+10.5)
Bulls -10.5 v Chiefs -12.5 (-6.5)
Sharks -7.5 v Rebels -7.5 (-4.5)
Reds -1.5 v Brumbies Choice (+4.5)

Thanks Brent , yeah what a weekend indeed , was sitting in Sri Lanka trying to get streams etc to work whilst looking for an Irish Pub . In free fall on Superbru having gone Wolves, Rebels . Some huge swings , thankfully I caught a middle of Rebels plus and Lions plus in running , also somehow managed to win the Scotland plus !! What a fight back by Scots, Lions and Reds . Ireland were woeful , Wales superb , Ireland looking so tired and players off form , however I wouldn't write them off just yet. They have room to improve on this 6 Nations effort. If Italy kicks their kicks or scores their tries I have a great weekend .

Nevertheless looking forward to this weekend .

All over the Bulls -4.5. Also a double on Bulls -4.5 onto Stormers +15.5 and a trebble on Bulls -4.5 onto Stormers +15.5 onto Sunwolves +9.5. Stormers and Wolves have winning chance

Quick question, does anyone follow the minutes count on ABs players and if so who is probably going to be rested? I am eyeing on Blues (+3.5) (gosh really?) but not sure if some of the ABs like Ioane are over the minutes. Or both Landers and Blues from a Bye so full strength ? I also like the Reds +3.5 they are underrated this year.

Bulls -4.5 is GOLDEN! Cannot believe that, was tempted to take the -11.5 at GG yesterday! Glad I waited, Bulls to run the Chiefs ragged!

SBW not playing for Blues this weekend. He is taken weekend off to support the Mosque victims.

was max 180 minutes 1st 3 rounds,
then also not allowed 5 games in a row, but that rule already being flexed (Chiefs will be allowed play all AB's vs Bulls),
then i think they have to sit out at least 2 full games in regular season.

The Hurricanes' second row stocks have taken another hit, with South African lock Andries Ferreira departing the Wellington side, having not played a single minute of Super Rugby.

Signed at the beginning of the month to replace the injured Sam Lousi, 28-year old Ferreira has suffered a knee injury, and will return home to South Africa after a mutual agreement between himself and the Hurricanes.

Coach John Plumtree said he was upset to be losing Ferreira, but the Hurricanes are in need of a fit lock with Lousi being ruled out until the end of the current Super Rugby season.

"It's disappointing for us as Andries is an excellent player who had the potential to play an important part in our campaign," he said.

No replacement player has been confirmed to have signed for the Hurricanes in Ferreria's place.

I'm still gong to stick with my main bet for the Bulls vs Chiefs game as:
Bulls HT / Bulls FT @1.95

Bulls have been an excellent first half side, couple that with altitude for 2nd half.

1st half results in SA so far:
vs Stomers 21 -3
vs Lions 14 - 0
vs Sharks 19 - 0

Will be targeting points bets as my main plays this weekend but there is still lots of value on the handicaps.

Blues +3.5
Blues at home vs an inconsistent Landers side. NZ derbies favour the home side and the Blues have named a strong side.

Wolves +9.5
Although they are playing in Singapore, Lions are overrated by the bookies. After bottling it last weekend, Wolves will be keen to make amends.

Reds +6.5
Brummies without Pocock and they struggle on the road.

Tahs +13.5
I love opposing NZ sides and this game is no different. A generous handicap from the bookies. As good as the Saders are, they won't beat a star studded Tahs side by more than 13 in Australia.

Bulls -4.5 was an early gift.

Best bet of the round: Sunwolves +9.5
Value bet of the round: Blues outright @2.5

Canes side much changed. I'm not a fan of how Stormers play and think a side who play at pace will have their number, but if Eben starts the +14.5 looks biggish. I'm battling to call this game - and already taken Canes HT/FT in a double.

Will see what the forum and Handicap guys think.

Thoughts from Hanrick

Got on the Bulls -4.5 and will still take lowest minus available currently. Also Bulls/Bulls ht/ft at 9/10. With Chiefs poor defence, it being a 15:00 game and AJ Jacobs the ref I will take overs on Bulls points.

Like the Sunwolves +9.5 strong. Sunwolves will win the game. Will take unders on Lions points here.

Like the Waratahs +14.5 and will take overs on total points as games between these sides tend to be high scoring.

Strongest fancy is the Stormers +15.5. This is absolute gold and one where you can spend the winnings after you have placed the bet. I would advise punters so take a lower plus at bigger odds. I have taken a solid bet on Stormers to win the game at 5/1. Stormers will win this game. Hurricanes without Laumape, Perenara and Coles. Stormers will destroy the Canes upfront. Will also take unders on Hurricanes points. Stormers defence has improved a lot over the last 3 rounds. Stormers plus one of the best bets so far this year.

Heh Lads ,

Here are my thoughts for this weekend .

Starting with the NZ derby , should be pretty as tight as the betting suggests, I do fancy the Highlanders , I simply won't back the Blues if I can help it. They could potentially put a spanner in the works if they get a few lucky breaks , therefore a small strike on the Highlanders minus 3.5 , there is small chance of rain.

Glen Jackson in charge of Canes vs Stormers , weather is fine. Not quite as bullish on The Stormers as I was but def feel I'll be having a go at the plus 15.5 , if the Stormers play clever I feel it could be a tight affair and possibly an unders play to boot . If they play dumb and open it up the Canes could eat them alive .

The Waratahs are at full strength to try and put a stop to the rampant Crusaders . It's at the SCG once again and the turf will be flying . Weather is good and the cap now looks well set. I will look to do something in play probably but do like the Crusaders on the cap.

Sadly I missed all the big plusses on The Wolves but am still on the prowl for the best plus , I do like them quite a lot although easy tries at the end could swing it either way. Lions away from home will be interesting .

Def in line with the Bulls minus and if they stick to basics it coudl get ugly for the chiefs , it doesn't worry me when we're all in alignment as I do fear the big puncture , sadly I've missed all the early fun fare but do feel the minus 7.5 is a very good bet.

The Sahrks are proving a horrid team to punt and I got them horribly wrong in Pretoria, they also have had some tight matches with the Rebels.

I will prob look at unders and maybe some in running .

Reds vs Brumbies , a day game and points could be on offer , however it is an ausie derby. Leaning towards the Brumbies .

Play Well

No strong feel on Blues v Highlanders, so having a speculative play on HT/FT Landers/Blues @ 9

Landers pack has impressed me, but the starting props are of a much higher quality than those on the bench.
This was evident a couple of weeks back when they were melting the Canes scrum until the front rowers were replaced - the Canes were then able to finish over the top of them.

Contrast this with the Blues who have their two AB props the "Two Tu'u's" to come off the bench, along with 2 other All Blacks in their pack.

Whether that will be enough for the Blues to break their NZ team drought remains to be seen, Landers could be out of sight by 60 mins, but at those odds it's worth a stab.

I am also in the no bet on the Blues line camp or head to head for that matter. Too many disappointments, and not enough reward for the risk. However it is a must watch game for me, which means I will have beer $ on Blues over 22.5 @ 1.87.
I am expecting a similar result to the Rebels last week....... 22.5 points in a canter ;- )

Stormers: 1. Steven Kitshoff, 2. Bongi Mbonambi, 3.Frans Malherbe, 4. Eben Etzebeth, 5. Chris van Zyl, 6. Siya Kolisi, 7. Pieter-Steph du Toit, 8. Juarno Augustus

Above are my first eight reasons for my bet on Stormers Win First Half (3 out of 5) v Canes paying $3.45!

Pack has a Springbok look to it and they recently beat the AB's in Wellington under Kolisi.

Canes have the worst pack of the NZ 5 in SupeRugby.

Canes have nobody to challenge Etzebeth in the lineouts and Stormers will control possession.

Coles, Perenara & Laumaphe rested this week LOL -serious planning error.

Jordie Barret has not played 12 in a long time and even though playing outside his brother, will take at least the first quarter to settle in.

Also using this bet to super size my multis!

Congrats to Mackem for nailing the last two NZ derbys with his specialty bet 1-7 either team.

Congrats to Brent for keeping the flag flying through out "load-shredding". Would not know of this problem, without GFTGF and if I had not seen Oracle in his car! I am guessing that Brent must have a back up solar system or grid chargable batteries? Obviously something seriously wrong with the management of the SA economy when you have so much solar & wave power available.

Crusaders rose from the ashes after the quakes and will do the same in Sydney.

Lot of talk about changing the name. Hmmm a topic for the future....however you will not see knights, horses and swords at next home game (week 8) in Christchurch.

Good Luck punting to everyone....... please use Stormers HT for deposit on solar panels!

I have to agree with you threepeat.

Unless Bongi throws a horribly skew in the line outs this game falls in the granny pension fund bracket.

We have 10 quality Springboks playing with three of those being props and arguably the best scrummagers in their position. They have a lock crisis and resting some of their best ABs.

Took some Stormers HT/FT at 7/1 as our bench is looking much stronger. It's my best bet for the weekend and definitely the way to go.

If the Huricanes beat the Stormers with a team like that I would not only say it's an insult to South African rugby but our chances of winning at the World Cup later this year would be on par with Georgia.

I'm not all that positive as the rest of you that the Stormers will be in this.

Etzebeth is a big loss. The team does look good on paper and the Hurricanes are resting players but it's a New Zealand team at home.

I'll look for opportunities in game.
