Gents, I could not find another thread on this and decided to start one.

WSB has some markets out of which the most interesting for me is Top Bat. I asked them this morning to do a price for Markram as they still had Reeza on the list. They came out with 50/1. Given his form (88 for Hampshire yesterday) and the fact that come World Cup he would have around 10-12 innings in England makes him a runner for me.

I have taken that and some De Kock for 16/1 (he shortened from 25/1 last week).

On the Outright Winner the prices are as follows:
England 22/10
India 3/1
Australia 7/2
South Africa 8/1
New Zealand 12/1
Pakistan 16/1
West Indies 20/1
Sri Lanka 66/1
Afghanistan 80/1
Bangladesh 125/1

I took some SA at 10/1 during the Pakistan series and saw today it had come down. My other preference is Australia. They have been in good form this year, and with Smith and Warner back will take some beating.

I like Australia and Pakistan. Have backed Austria to win at 4/1 and Pakistan to make the semi-finals at 1.37/1. Would love a price on South Africa to miss the semi-finals. Will probably get that closer to the start of the tournament.

Any team to score 500+ in an innings throughout the tournament is 9/1, I thought that could be worth an interest with batting friendly wickets expected.

Will have some previews ready for Monday

Any Team To Score 500+ In A Single Innings? Yes at 9/1
Team to Score Most Sixes. England at 3/1

The first 2 are recreational bets but I do like England as the team to hit the most 6's

Not a big cricket punter but like the chances of NZ also, who've come in under the radar a wee bit.

My CWC bets so far:

Team to hit most 6's = England @ 9/4.

Also like this like mackem, couldn't get any 3/1 but will take 9/4 as good enough. Eng only bat one way.

Semi-finalists = ENG / IND / AUS / RSA @ 4/1.

While NZ could go close i prefer SA to edge them in standings.

Player of Tournament = Johnny Bairstow @ 11/1

Been playing so well and expecting a big tournament from him.

England v South Africa

Venue stats; ICC influenced pitch prep; 1st game; Early start (10:30) etc .... would suggest that most teams would opt to chase at the Oval. I would be really surprised if any team wins the toss and opts to bat first tomorrow.

England to win toss, bowl 1st & to win match 5/2
England to loss toss, bat 1st & to win match 7/2

So taking a small punt on the probability of the toss decision for a 3/4 or 5/4 on an England victory.

The time has come boyo's. Agree on England and Australia. India just do not adapt to English conditions and SA are too weak at 7-9. But here's where I disagree with the board. The stated objective of the ICC is batting friendly pitches for this world cup. NZ just do not have the bowling attack for good wickets. Boult is quality but Southee is past his sell by date - a rubbish IPL and not impressive against India a few days ago. Give them a slow/low wicket and they will perform but on good batting tracks they are fetching leather from the stands. Absolutely agree with Couch on the Windies - they are quite capable of losing to Bangladesh - BUT - on a good wicket they can beat anyone as the 2-2 draw against the tournament favorites recently proves. NZ on a good wicket cannot beat any of the top sides. None of my books offering - Name the semi-finalists but I would go for England/Australia/Windies and toss a coin for India/Pakistan. My outrights
Top Bat Warner @ 12/1
Finalists England/Australia @ 15/2
Top Pakistan Bat Azam @ 2/1
Top SA Bat FAF @ 7/2
and from above
To lose in the semi's Windies @ 15/4

a right brain twister today, both team have the ability to win , both have some terrific hitters , the ground is small and south's sixes look good. pakistan in shocking form and their fielding is on par with a high school 11 at best , windies are in ok form and some of their big hitters in form too . betting also suggests this is a tough game to match , to be honest I'm going to flip a coin ....pakistan it is lol .
