Super Rugby Week 3 plus other Rugby was created by Brent Graham

A poor weekend for the preview picks in week 2 but overall I managed to get ahead thanks to the unders just arriving in Lions v Reds and Englnd -6.5 scraping in

Here are my handicap predictions for week 3 - GGG have priced up and theirs to the right

Blues +7.5 v Crusaders +7.5
Rebels -0.5 v Waratahs -7.5
Sunwolves +27.5 v Chiefs +17.5
Hurricanes -4.5 v Sharks 13/20 Canes
Brumbies -3.5 v Highlanders -7.5
Lions +5.5 v Stormers +8.5
Jaguares -12.5 v Reds -14.5

Seems like the toughest weekend ahead to punt on. Will mostly target points lines but a couple of caps stick out for me:

'Tahs +7.5
Rebels are due a bounce back but so are the Tahs. This could be a tight affair and a cap of more than a converted try just seems a tad too big.

Reds +14.5
Reds have impressed me, despite back to back losses. They are a young side and will take some time to settle. They should be able to cover this double score handicap.

Had a poor round 2 super rugby but NH stuff kept me afloat and a big and rather annoyed strike on Italy ht points was a massive swing on weekend.

I really could do with one standout bet and i think there’s a lot in the favour of the Sharks, looking for any plus once more firms price up. Long travel for Canes, I think Barrett and Perenara both can’t play more than 60min due to NZ protocols.

Sharks really stand out for me.

Yep, Canes getting too much credit for their win against the Jaguares. There was a fine line between them losing that game by 15 and winning. I'm sure they'll find their morale boosted by their performance, but it's a long trip home from Argentina to await a ready and waiting Sharks team.

-3.5 for the Stormers looks fantastic as well. The Lions' win in the weekend didn't convince me that they're not rubbish, they deserved to lose that game.

It’s a difficult week, lines seem to be relatively well set. I had a strong WE so will try not to overplay this one, probably leaning to a Crusaders X Stormers @2 no H just both straight wins. I am trying to wrap my head around that Rebels Tahs game, but looks more and more like a flip coin.

Just had a go at Landers +7.5 @ 1.80

Tony Brown factor has me confident of a much improved showing this week - if they can make just half the number of errors they'll be a decent shout to win the game in my view.

Also took some Crusaders 13+ @ 2.88 earlier in the week.
Not as confident on that now I've seen the lineups, but fully expecting a bounce back after last week.

Looking outside of The Southern Hemisphere and turning our attention to the England's Premiership rugby this weekend. There is one bet that stands out above and beyond the rest:

Match: Saracens vs Sale Sharks
Pick: Sale Sharks to win @2.06
Logic: Sale Sharks look to be finding their feet again having won 3 out of their last 4 in the Premiership, including a win over top of the table Exeter Chiefs. Sale have a very strong team at the moment in comparison to other teams in the league, as they have only lost one or two players to international duties. On the other hand, most of Saracens key players are away training in the England Six Nations camp. The weather forecast shows a lot of rain, which plays into the hands of the large and in charge Sale Sharks players. Their forward pack boasts two of the Du Preez brothers, whilst in the backline you have the massive Rohan Janse van Rensburg and Chris Ashton. Sale and Saracens actually played last week in The Premiership Rugby Cup, where Sale beat Saracens 28-7. The Saracens team this weekend will look a bit different, however it's still not going to be good. It could be a similar team that went down 41 points to 14 against a very average Quins side. Fire away at this!

We also know that Brendon Wessels aka The Conductor is a proponent of Sale Sharks this weekend - always nice to align with him on European rugby as he is a specialist at it!

Logic: Lions have named an inexperienced side for the clash in Joburg, particularly up front in the forwards. Stormers coming off two whitewash wins and have been working extremely hard this week. Expecting their pack to dominate and their big D to come through.

Blues Vs Crusaders
Not a lot of love for the Blues but I am going to back them here I have re-watched their games and feel they have played better than what they have been credited. If not for 10 minutes vs the Chiefs they would be 2-0 and looking like the Blues of yesteryear almost..... I cap this game a lot closer (2.5) and typical tough NZ derby's are decided by 7 or less. Mo'unga returning is a boost to the Saders but I think this one is won in the Coaches box. Leon Macdonald gets his first shot at his former team and coaching mentor. He should have the inside word on the Crusaders and will have cooked up something special. Nothing quite beats getting one over your former team as a player and especially as a coach.

Crusaders let me down last week. Should have cantered away with the game in the first half. Expect them to bounce this week but Blues difficult to predict and not risking cash, except for a small bet in the exotics for Reece & Bridges to score 2 or more tries combined @$ 2.50 tab nz

Two desperate Australian sides , both poor . Leaning towards the Waraturds, have a good record against the Rebels especially away from home . On the best plus I can find .. total points line looking a little low at 43.5 but will try and get an eye on eventual conditions before pulling the trigger .
