Online Poker

Hi TLF,

To the best of my knowledge online poker us still illegal in SA. I believe some people still play with Silversands and understand their servers are based elsewhere but no idea if this is legal.

I have registered on Pokerist.com - no idea what their model is but the site allows you to set up private games. You don't actually play for money on the site but if you have a strong admin guy in your group a nice cash game can be set up behind the scenes so to speak.

It is better suited to cash games than a winner take all tournament as the blinds do not increase and there are a few quirks on the site to get the hang of but it really works well for our needs.

We also link up on zoom so we have some banter as well.

Gary mentioned a site called PokerBros the other day. I have not had a good look at this yet but understand you can set up private tournaments for mates
