Pro cycling is back and we have a 1 day race on Saturday with the Strade Bianche and a stage race the Vuelta a Burgos starting today

Unfortunately it does not appear as if the latter is televised which is a pity as it looks like a great route with a couple of exciting MTF's.

I am still going to have an interest though all at WSB -

1 unit Gaudu win at 11/2 - I am expecting a big race from Gaudu and he looks perfectly course suited

Matchbet Treble 1 unit at just shy of 7/2

Evenpoel/Valverde
Aru/Meintjies
Kuss/Chavez

No joy on the betting front in stage 1 but reading the text comms it was a thriller with cross winds, crashes and general chaos. At least Gaudu finished up there so that bet is still kicking at this stage.

Can't wait to see more of Evenepoel in action - he made a solo break, was caught and still finished top 10 - a beast

Today looks like a sprint, will have a quick look at the betting

Aru still in the outright mix and Evenepoel put in a decent effort yesterday.
I see Gaviria had a run at the finish so he must be feeling OK. Cimolai finished 11min down but he carries the No 1 team plate so maybe saving energy for today (Like Bennett?)
Win
Gaviria @ 67/20
Match Bet
Cimolai over Aberasturi @ 29/20

One may begin to wonder about punting in the cycling season when my Aru outright and Gaviria stage today are the first team to be decimated by Covid

The Yates brothers were originally scheduled to ride the TdF. I have not heard anything different so Simon must be carrying some form ( I understand no injuries from his stage 1 fall ) and the team also has two cards to play
S Yates @ 10/1
Chaves @ 28/1

Thought I was in business yesterday when MS shattered the peloton and launched Chaves with 3km to go. Pretty darn impressive from the youngster. Will see if he can back it up on Saturday with a view to a long term on the Giro.
Burgos Stage 4
Match bet double
Demare over Nizzola into
Stuyven over Lobato @ 15/10
and a beer or two on break candidates
Haller @ 359/1
Postlberger @ 369/1

We have the Route D' Occitanie starting in just over an hour. A four day race with some big names. Two flattish stages, a lumpy break away stage and a mountain top finish. I'm taking a few beers on three riders who may catch a break and also have the legs not to lose too much time on the mountain top finish
Win Only
Mollema @ 22/1
Masnada @ 40/1
LL Sanchez @ 150/1

Strade Bianche
63 km of white road in the summer time - should be fun today. The race looks very open to me so I'm going one winner but looking for a possible long odds podium from one of the outsiders
e/w
Van Aert @ 12/1
1-3
Ulissi @ 40/1
Boasson Hagen @ 80/1

Made the double yesterday but a bit lucky with the Stuyven leg as they were caught behind the crash and just rolled in.

Can't wait for Strade Bianche, what a race this should be

So much can happen in cycling but for me there are so many way for Van Der Poel to win this and for me if he doesnt have bad luck in running he wins this

2.5 units MVDP win at 4/1 at Hollywood

0.5 units on Pogacar another freakish young talent at 25/1 Hollywood

2.5 units MVDP/Sagan onto Pogacar/Formolo at just over 13/10

Here is a taste of what we can expect
