The final weekend of New Zealand Super Rugby ahead, what a pity it has been brilliant

Here are my handicap forecasts for next week

Force +12.5 v Waratahs (I don't know what to make of these Tahs)
Highlanders +2.5 v Hurricanes
Red -3.5 v Rebels
Blues +4.5 v Crusaders

GGG opening caps in brackets, home team cap (possibly been adjusted to early betting)

Force +12.5 v Waratahs (+9.5)
Highlanders +2.5 v Hurricanes (+4.5)
Red -3.5 v Rebels (+0.5)
Blues +4.5 v Crusaders (+4.5 now 7/10)

Although I capped Blues +4.5 I also like them to win the dead rubber

Like the Blues too Brent.

Couldve perhaps had a better quote earlier, but taken a chunk of Blues +2 @ 1.91 at Betfair.

Crusaders will definitely be without 2/4 of their 1st choice props.
Razor will I think rest a couple of others.
Surely the others would have had a few beers, which will impact their recovery.
Blues fresh off the bye and desperate to end with a W for their home fans.
Reckon Blues will start warm favourites.

Rebels + Blues win double @ 33/10

Rebels impressed me, bossed a good Brumbies side, solid set piece, good kicking game, pace out wide. Reds over reliant on JOC, looked tired across park vs Tahs.

Blues like guys have said - sell out @ Eden Park, will be frenetic from start, expecting points on this one. Side rested and BB starting to find best form.

Very confident on Reds on the board at 9/10.

Reds a different beast in Queensland. Reds main weakness has been defence out wide with Jock Campbell and Hegarty the guilty parties. That should be eradicated this weekend with Petaia and Feauai-Sautia returning to the side. I also expect Tate McDermott to start which is a huge boost to the Reds. Rebels been impressive but they prefer an arm wrestle.

Taking extended handicap of Reds -5.5 at 15/10.

No feel on Force cap at the moment. Was hoping for double digits for a Force plus.

Strong on Blues +4.5 taken with GG but not available anymore.

hmm you've thrown me a bit there Neil, wasn't expecting anyone to be bullish on Reds. Interesting.

I'm just not convinced Reds have really bossed teams at home - 2 late pens to edge Tahs by 6, 79th minute drop vs Force to win by 7. They need a big turnaround this week to win, in my honest opinion. I just don't see it. Will get the eggs ready for my face just in case.

Breaking News - Put your Blues v Saders betting on Hold

Less than two hours ago Auckland Super City was placed in Level 3 Lockdown as of 12 midday tomorrow, for three days, due to four new cases of community transmitted Covid 19. No travel allowed into Auckland by Kiwis not resident in Auckland. Presumably this means the postponement of the Blues v Saders game as at level three, all but emergency services workers have to stay at home and you have to maintain social distancing. Eden Park has sold a capacity 43,000 seats for the final round game, which they will not want to refund! Further announcement will be made tomorrow Wednesday August 12. The rest of NZ has been put on Level 2 lockdown. Cheers 3P

If the Blues v Crusaders game still goes ahead my money is still on the Crusaders. Razor and the Crusaders lads are too much of a professional team to not want to win. I think Razor will name the best team he has available to him.

Under 52.5 in Tahs - Force.

Very surprised line is this high.

Eyeing out Reds over 23.5 but waiting to strike due to inclement weather predictions.

Double of under 58.5 points in Tahs-Force onto Sale Sharks victory at 11/10

Force v Tahs Preview - I like the Tahs but cannot bring myself to back them so a speculative play of a winning margin of 11-20 points

Blues Saders off.

Highlanders v Canes goes ahead, no crowds. Canes must fly in on morning, 1hr40 flight, 3pm kick-off local time. I don't think this helps them at all, all in probably 3-4hrs travelling with airport time, getting to ground, all on morning of game.

gone Highlanders +2.5 @ 9/10

Western Force vs Waratahs

The Force have a tendency to start the matches well and score more in the first half.
They are coming into this match after an extra week break and they get back their captain.

Bet 1: Western Force over 9.5 points 1st Half @1.81
Bet 2: Western Force +4.5 HT @1.72
Bet 3: Total Points over 46.5 @1.75

Darn'it: Blues would have beat the Saders without Mo'unga,
and,
Landers are gonna beat the Canes without TJ,
and,
Rebels will slaughter the Reds I think because Thorn was a far better player (maybe) than he is a coach - I think :)

Also guys: Oracle is a much better champion at picking winners now that he's not an official pundit anymore, but more of a sorta 'pin-the-tail-on-the-monkey - I'll take that bet' kinda guy who makes movies about fires and other funny bullshit stuff: "Oracle for President" :woohoo: :woohoo:

Anyway, just what I think after a good Friday afternoon drinking craft-beer at R50/glass with the mates :beer 'hic'

Give the bookies hell guys, cheers, :) :beer

You gave me a chuckle there Kirky

Final preview - not much enthusiasm due to the unfortunate ending to this tournament so a small overs play

Highlanders + lands with ease, had an angry double down bet after that Sale performance last night so a very good result. Man those NZ guys can play at such an amazing pace, been an enjoyable tournament to watch and punt.

Onto Aussie match - cannot believe am getting a decent plus on Rebels, feel they can win but will take the cap -

Rebels +5.5 @ 15/20

Reds 1 - 12 at 18/10 and under 50.5 total points at 0.86/1. Just too high for an Aussie game

Following Hanrick, under 48.5 and Reds 1-12 . Just assuming the Reds will bounce back after the shambles of their last two games and dig out a win here .
