In the old days todays card would have been met with the description "soup meat " but as I love horses too much I can't bring myself to say it LOL.

Loads of ex Kimberley form today and there could be some surprises.

Race 1.
Phew never thought I'd see Naomi as this price, have backed her many times at long odds. She has the form of late to go very close to I think she is beatable. I think Sarabi and Starlight 11/1 each can go close .

Race 2.
Jay's Dancer has the form and a claiming appie, will probably go better and is worth a nibble if he does. Cardborad Cowboy my first choice though at 11/2.

Race 3.
Declaration of War will prefer this trip, narrow first choice at 13/1 and 15/10 a place first 3.

Race 4.
Popova and Kick Butt 4/1 and 11/1. Really open though.

Race 5.
Ingakkara at 8/1 and Silver Beauty 16/1.

Race 6.
Galway a narrow selection 12/1. and 15/10 a place, White Cedar next best at 7/2.

Race 7.
Track Attack could go on now, course might not suit but worth a go at 7/2.

Race 8.
Lotsa Silver in a tough one at 6/1.

Race 9.
Giving Tilmeeth one last go , 7/1 and Sevneth Song at 6/1.

Play well

2 for me today at Durbanville.

Race 1 - Northern Tunr @ 40/1
Not the best form but holds both the fav and 2nd fav on previous runs.
Holds Carlo on the runs behind Barney McGrew. NT finished 1l behind and CC on 1st run finished 2.25l. Same weight terms as today and NT drawn much better. And CC first time around the bend.
Holds Hardkollie on previous run. Getting 4kg claim for 2.5l beating.
Yes i know those were 1st runs for them so expect improvement, but 40/1 to 2/1. No brainer for me. Also both are first time around the bend.
Can't get hurt at those odds.

Race 7 - Kathleen @ 11/1
Carrying less than a postage stamp. Yes stepping out against some smart sorts but always rated this horse. Drawn 2 and and carrying 46.5kgs. Must have a shot.

Enjoy the racing.

Thanks KT for your thoughts .

Missed Race 1.

Race 2.
Lots of really well bred first timers, loads of support for Kitty who now tops the board . No idea how to play this, follow the money or not. I will though have some places on Enchanted Creek, poor jock on board but 3/1 first 4.

Race 3.
Thin race , mach Four should in at 8/10 but Alfreds Choice at 11/2 is my narrow selection.

Race 4.
Brother Louis hard to beat , my best bet of the day at 5/2.

Race 5.
Rewrite The Stars my first choice at 7/2, race is open though. Secret Depths and Midnight Moonlight the dangers .

Race 6.
Lunar Tunes first choice at 5/1 , danger Big Suzie at 10/1.

Race 7.
Third Runway should have this field stone cold but 6/10.. Kt's Kathleen to chase her home.

Race 8.
Alfred's Girl at 4/1, a little worried about her fitness though and overall an open race .

Important day today with the Goodforthegame runner in the second race.

Race 1.
Lots of money for Full Velocity, stable been a little off form but big respect at 5/2. I'll have a small interest.

Race 2.
The forums first runner , been backed too. It's a weakish field but Lucky Houdalakis can get them ready. Loving the Victory is now 33/10 . personally I like Stroydem here on May Queen at 8/1, also great to see the colours of Dancing Arabian's owner, Joan Callaghan ... she was a legend in Rhodesia/Zim.

Race 3.
Winter Smoke was sadly scratched as she is a promising filly, I'm going to give this Azzie trained Rapid Fire another chance, She's back at the course where she won her maiden and I'm gonna fire 7/1. ( Just an update, Strydem not riding , Lerena up and she has blinkers, gonna watch her go down first. Possibly will cover with Slalom Queen at 9/2.

Race 4.
Weak maiden, Backstreet Boss has been supported , unusually a first timer debuting over 1800m, preference for Gavs Angel 8/1.

Race 5.
What a Story , my best bet of the day at 7/2.

Race 6.
Open race , Peter stable also out of sorts , but preference for Loralei at 7/2.

Race 7.
Confessor is a strong first choice at 7/2., next best is Brooklyn Bridge 5/1.

Race 8.
Tough race , Oksana gets the claimer and that helps in this one but price too skinny, like SunSet beach 9/1 and Oceans Pride 16/1.

Enjoy it and once again all the best to the Forum today

After a puncture Thursday, hoping to get back in the saddle with a few winners.

Joburg inside Track.

Race 1.
Showdown Kid disqualified last time out , one to beat though going around the turn for the first time. So first choice at 17/10, Bepop seems to be the obvious danger with stable regaining some form mid week at 5/1.

Race 2.
Romeo's Magic, top jock up and could improve alot as a result, 20/1.
Burning Ice also at 5/1.

Race 3.
I'm gonna stick wih Tahitian Orange, has been good to me 22/10, next best is Risk Taker at 5/2.

Race 4.
Weak field and the first timer could be good enough if fancied. War Worthy 6/1.
Wonderous my first choice though at 7/1.

Race 5.
Sammi Moosa overdue and stable in great form, 5/2 is a little tight though but respect. Race is open though , Jacko Boy first choice 11/2, then Sammi.

Race 6.
Smaill field, Opepheous could get away from them third run after a rest, I do think American Indian hard to beat. 2/1.

Race 7.
I think Oscar Wilde could get it right toda, price a little skinny still and hoping for better, my best of the day.

Race 8.
My next best if Oscar has failed to deliver, Madame patrice, all over her like a cheap ho. 4/1.

Race 9.
Written in Stone 3/1 has been very consistent, Putins Promise in form stable 3/1., but I think Precious Stone is now reaady, 9/2.

Play Well

Thanks Coil, some tough racing today, but some thoughts below:

Race 1 - Bebop @ 11/2 & Bella Black @ 40/1
Like the breeding and drawn 1 with top jock up.
Bella Black, drawn wide but siblings seem to have some pace.

Race 2 -
Will follow yours Coil, like the Jockey booking as you say

Race 4 - Tequila @ 16/1 (WSB)
Not shown much but with extremely light weight and good draw, might surprise.

Race 7 - Zeal & Zest @ 10/1
ZZ my first choice, with weight turn around on Fav Sell High.
Will also be taking a bit on Duke of Gold, 1st time out of the maiden always tough but looks okay. 2 Winners already out of the race.

Enjoy the racing

Scotsville

Race 1.
Going with Mount Greylock, first timer and feel the Drier stable about to turn ..5/1.

Race 2.
Hawker Typoon is all the rage , I'll take a double with Winter Blues later on, works out at about 13/2.

Race 3.
Grey Lingara is no champion but this looks the right race race , 7/2.

Race 4.
Tough race , Monarchy 6/1 just ahead of Proud Warrior 11/2.

Race 5.
Another tough one , galway Girl 11/1. and Dark moon Down 12/1.

Race 6.
My best of the day , Winter Bliues at 3/1.

Race 7.
Maidens Prayer narrowly 5/1. from Simply Scrumptius 15/1.

Race 8.
Black Fox should get it right finally , first choice at 33/10, Dyno Man at 14/1 my roughie.

Thanks Coil for early thoughts, some nice racing today in PMB

Race 1 - Mondovi @ 25/1(WSB) & Story Book @ 40/1 (HW)
Mondovi is half brother to super fast Whizz of Odds who won first 2 on the trot. Hoping with Kennedy up a good sign and will be ready.
Story Book - Looks way out but when you delve deeper has run against some decent sorts. 2 Runs back ran 7l behind Garralous, at level weights, not geting appie claim. In same race was 5.5l behind Naval Secret who won well and again getting claim would put it closer.
Last time out again ran 4l behind the impressive winner Impartial last week, and again would be getting 4kg appie claim. Now yes I know would need to improve on these runs, but returns to up the straight at Scotsville and if repeats any of these, should be in the money I think.

Race 2 - Sweetscentedgarden @ 7/1
Yes Hawker Typhon all the rage as Coil said, and will be hard to beat, but SSG comes from the super strong formline of Captian Oupie, yes has a lot to find on that run but with appie claim should finish a lot closer. Also 1st time at Scottsville for HT which has been known to be the graveyard for short priced fav's.

Race 4 - Final Occasion @ 14/1
Since moving down to Durban, hasn't shown much, but I am thinking may prefer the Scotsville run in as based on JHB form, more than impressive. Won maiden over Distance on tighter TFI course. Then ran 7l behind Derby winner Out of your League at level weights, who beat Got The Greenlight in Derby and in same race, was 3 lengths behind Imperial Ruby, also graded race winner. Also last run in JHB was 8l behind top Master Supreme at level weights. Now if you had to put any of these in here carrying 60kg's, I am sure they would be odds on at least, so I think there is huge value on Final Occasion if takes to track and repeats either of those performances.

Race 5 - Dark Moon Down @ 12/1
Wide open race but will give this one a go again, 1 last time

Race 6 - Gotthegreenlight @ 5/1 (WSB)
I believe this is like Captian Oupie from last week. Based on first run with 4kg's off, this horse if fit should walk in. Won its maiden C & D easily and if you look at last 2, doesn't seem to see out the 1200m. Back to 1000m with appie, could see this one going to the front and having to be chased.

Hopefully can have a good day, enjoy the racing
