Port Adelaide vs Richmond

This is a semifinal and is played in Adelaide with spectators.

Richmond are big favourites to retain the title. They are a great team and in very good form.

Port Adelaide have been sitting at the top of the ladder all season, and a few rounds ago they beat Richmond at home by 21 points.

Anyway, Port have been constant this season and have had an extra 8 days rest, and I think with the home crowd behind them, they can qualify to the Grand Final.

It rained all day in Adelaide and it is cloudy and windy, wet under foot.

Brisbane Lions vs Geelong Cats

This is the second semifinal and is played in Brisbane, where the Lions have a perfect record, 10-0. They will have the home crowd behind them.

Geelong are usual customers at this stage, but the Lions have just broken one bad record they had. Two weeks ago they beat Richmond, who last night won their semifinal away in Adelaide and qualified for the final. Richmond are the defending champions and had been beating the Lions home and away for many many years before that. The Lions beat them 69-54, showing that they have matured and are ready to play the Grand Final.

The Cats have been on and off coming into the finals, and despite demolishing Collingwood last week (100-32), they had similar wins this season after which they came crashing down to earth. The Lions had been sitting at the top of the ladder along with Port Adelaide for most of the season, and have come into the finals on a long winning streak. They have also resolved their shooting accuracy issues, and that was very clear in their defeat of Richmond when they scored 10 goals and 9 behinds.

These two teams are high scoring, and we saw that in the previous play-offs round as well, when they had high scores in their respective matches.

Daniel Rich has had more than 15 disposals in his last five matches.
Brandan Parfitt has had more than 16 disposals in seven of Geelong's last eight matches.

Winner South. Stats show less tackles being made with no fans which accounts for more goals. Man City have not impressed defensively and odds look OK
