All Tennis Tips w/c 19th October was created by Quill
This is a thread for this week's tennis. All tips are welcome.

I think I'll have some time again this week, at least until Friday.

ATP Cologne

Thompson vs Simon
Simon destroyed an in-form Marton Fucsovics last week in Cologne and lost in two tight sets to Roberto Bautista Agut.
He plays very well on indoor hardcourts.
Thompson has hardly played indoor before. Last week he played poorly both on serve and return and he had to defend 11 break points.

Nishioka vs Edmund

Edmund has not been great of late, but he did take a set off Novak Djokovic at the U.S. Open. He also played last week in Cologne, whereas for Nishioka this will be his first hard-court match since leaving New York. The Japanese left-hander has been a disaster since blowing a two-set lead against Andy Murray at the U.S. Open and this surface is not particularly good for him. Edmund should roll.

Bet 1: Simon + Edmund @2.22
Bet 2: Edmund -2.5 @1.80
Bet 3: Edmund 2-0 @2.30

ATP Cologne
Nagal vs Kecmanovic

Kecmanovic has done well on the surface this year by bagging four such wins from the possible six, including a semifinal appearance in New York.
Nagal has won only two matches on indoor hardcourt so far in his career, and he needed a lucky-loser spot to get into the main draw. He won’t last long in it.

Bet 1: Under 20.5 games @1.75
Bet 2: Edmund + Kecmanovic @1.79

Tough night tonight, they didn't follow the script, and all of a sudden players like Nagal or Nishioka have become world beaters.

ATP Cologne

Sandgren vs Herbert

Both players had disappointing results last week.
Herbert lost in the first round to a completely out of form Radu Albot.
Sandgren lost to a wild card entrant last week in St Petersburg.

This time Herbert had to play qualifications to enter the main draw, and he took care of business in commanding fashion, dropping only 7 games in total, in two quick one hour wins.

Both players have big serves and they will want to bounce back, so I expect a long match.

WTA Ostrava
Victoria Azarenka vs Barbora Krejcikova
Anett Kontaveit vs Sara Sorribes Tormo

Azarenka has been one of the best players on tour since the restart, with a final in Cincinnati, a final at the US Open, quarter-final in Rome.
How comes Sorribes Tormo is still here? She is a clay court player, but somehow she managed to win two qualification matches and beat Linette in the first round.
Kontaveit will surely give her a hard-court lesson. She reached the quarter-final in Cincinnati and the fourth round at the US Open.

ATP Antwerp
Grigor Dimitrov vs Pablo Andujar

Andujar has had some results on clay, and hardly any wins on hard courts. Dimitrov likes hard courts and he leads their head-to-head series 3-0 on this surface.

Azarenka + Kontaveit + Dimitrov @1.85

Raonic vs Bedene

Raonic is coming from a semifinal in St Petersburg.
Earlier he lost in the final in Cincinnati to Djokovic.
Bedene prefers clay courts.

Raonic is very good these days and he has powerful serves and hits, and Bedene would probably prefer to meet him on a clay court.
Raonic leads h2h 3-0, once on clay, once on hard and once on grass.

Bet 1: Raonic -4.5 @1.91
Bet 2: Under 21.5 games @2.00

ATP Cologne 2

Kecmanovic vs Mannarino

This should be an entertaining match. Both players are good on this surface, and Kecmanovic made it to the semifinals in New York earlier this year. IN the first round however, he struggled to beat a lucky loser, Nagal.
Mannarino had a good start here, by defeating Popyrin in two quick sets, 6-2 6-2.

Bet: Over 22.5 games @1.90

Johnson vs Fokina

Azarenka is on fire. She has been one of the best players on tour since the restart, with a final in Cincinnati, a final at the US Open, quarter-final in Rome.

Fokina is... the same, on fire. He reached the fourth round at the US Open, and last week he lost in the semifinal in Cologne to Zverev in two very tight sets.

Johnson is average these days. Beaten in the second round at the US Open by Berankis, last week he lost in the second round in Cologne to Harris in two sets.

Bet: Azarenka + Fokina @2.02

Struff vs Cecchinato

Cecchinato got a special exemption into this event because he reached the Sardinia final last week, on clay. The Italian is a terrible hard-court player and he has not won a match on this surface in a long time. Struff dominated their only previous hard-court encounter in easy straight sets at the 2018 Winston-Salem tournament.

Bet 1: Under 20.5 games @1.90
Bet 2: Struff -4.5 @1.83

Fritz vs Harris

Fritz opened with a very impressive 7-6 6-1 defeat of Opelka. Breaking the huge serve of Opelka three times in two sets is quite impressive, especially on an indoor hard court.
Fritz destroyed Harris 6-1, 6-3 in their only previous meeting this summer at the Cincinnati Masters.

Although Harris has improved recently, I think Fritz will still take care of business here.

Bet: Fritz -2.5 @1.80

Shapovalov vs Simon

Since he's had Youzhny as his coach, Shapovalov has improved a lot.
He reached the semifinals in Rome and St Petersburg and the quarter-finals at the US Open.

Simon is in poor form these days.
These two players met at the French Open and Shapovalov didn’t have much trouble to beat Simon. It doesn't look like Simon is in that kind of form to beat Shapovalov now.

Bet: Shapovalov -4.5 @2.10
