A good weekend with the Newsletter bet Bulls -10.5 ht cap arriving and we finally hit an acca as well. Overall profitable although I did give back on a few games and left the weekend feeling I should have finished further ahead.

I didn't realise the Currie Cup starts straight away but it does and here are my Handicap predictions

Sharks -24.5 v Pumas
Griquas +15,5 v Lions
WP -3.5 v Bulls

I have not seen a line for Argentina v New Zealand yet but suspecting it may open around -12.5 and end up around -16.5

There are also Mitre 10 Cup finals, Autumn Nations Cup, Premiership and Pro 14 matches - Glasgow +4.5 v Munster on Monday night

Look forward to your contributions in our never ending battle against the books

Gentlemen, I am a bit lost with this new format but can someone give some explanation about the Currie Cup starting this week? I remember Oracle mentioning the teams will keep their Super Rugby points but what about squads? Looks like same competition with a diff name to me. Thank you

Wow ! That is the weekend that I am waiting for. AB vs ARGIES. The Argies looks tired, Three intensive games in a row will be too many too much. The AB's will be fresh, rectify their mistakes ,bring a high intensity to Saturday's game. The ARGIES will be humiliated this coming weekend. The AB's will win with more than a 20 point margin.
The AB's -18,5 is gold. Sanches has a niggle, another minus for the Argies.I like what IAN FOSTER said"We don't like having another team play at a higher intensity than us so we've got to go and figure out how to respond," he said.

I disagree - Argentina have just as much motivation for this if not more. Playing to win the Tri Nations for the first time in their history. They aren't just going to roll over

Hard one to call really, Argentina have also lost Cubelli and Imhoff and Australia should have won by 10+ with a proper hooker that can throw the ball and a more clinical finished. I would be tempted by the ABs H but I had enough of this competition and will rather enjoy the show with a cold beer !

Sharks -24.5 v Pumas (-20.5)
Griquas +15,5 v Lions (+13.5)
WP -3.5 v Bulls (9/10 the pair)

Under 45pts looks great
38pts is line on Bet365. Munster know their way around wet tracks so staying away from total pts
I'll try Kevin O Byrne to scire a try and smalls on James Cronin @ 3/1 and 6/1

Call me crazy but I fancy Wales to cover the +14.5.

England haven't beaten Wales by more than 14 points in their last 22 fixtures and you have to go back to 2006 to find the last result where England won 47-13.

It’s not crazy, it’s a 3 scores handicap and the past 2-3 y a Wales - England was almost a choice type of bet. Yes no crowd and yes both teams are on a different form level but does that justify 14.5?

My early treble for the weekend:

Newcastle Falcons +9.5: I always back a "newly" promoted team as they are always highly motivated against the "superior" teams plus a good away win versus Bath over the past weekend. They will want a good start on their home pitch.
Benetton -6.5: Almost had a good win vs Ospreys, i think they will relish the opportunity to play at home vs a Dragon's side who rarely travels well.
Scarlets +15.5: This cap just seems too high, even though Leinster are in ruthless form. Scarlets have not lost a home game by more than this handicap for almost two years and seem to have turned a corner.

After a run of 3 (big) loss-making weekends, it's time for my rebound - and it starts now. So, with a shake'y confidence in my ability to cherry-pick rugby winners, and in the absence of the Stigmeister's tips, I thought I'd put my li'l peanuts on the table, and make my predicts public (gulp). So here's my picks:

Gallagher Premiership - good weather conditions all round:
1. Newcastle Falcons (vs Sale) +7.5 (1 of 5 units) and maybe a 1-12 tickle on Newcastle
2. Exeter Chiefs (vs Bath) -18.5 (2/5 units)
3. Wasps (vs Gloucester) -2.5 (2/5 units)

Pro 14 - fair/good weather:
1. Connacht (vs Ospreys) -11.5 (1/5 units)
2. Leinster (vs Scarlets) -13.5 (2/5 units)
3. Benetton (vs Dragons) -7.5 (1/5 units)

For Monday Pro 14 I will take:
1. Munster (vs Zebre) -31.5 (2/5 units)
2. Ulster (vs Edinburgh) -5.5 (2/5 units) this will depend whether Edinburgh's internationals will be playing or not...

For a bit of spice in the NZ/Argy game, as I have no feel for it, I've taken 3 x (beer money) HT draw combinations at large odds.
No more accas or Mitre 10 for me, and I've no feel for our Carling Cup or the Autumn Nations either - at this time :)

So up to now this weekend, I'm in for almost 14 units - let's see what my return is ?
May the Punter-Gods smile down on us, guys. :beer

Other fancies:
Treviso on the minus and a ML multi in Pro14

Too early for me to get heavily involved in Gallagher Premiership (no formlines to read)
Wasps were heavily fancied to thump Bristol last weekend. Yes, Bristol have many players out but Pat Lam has built a deep squad.
Anyhow - no play

Autumn Cup Thingy
Can't be touching Wales on the plus - Navidi is back but they have no form. Italy have proven a sticky side for France but still have to play the minus handicap so will try a Eng-14.5 and Fra-16.5 double

Good luck all

Edit: In light of Bradie's post am removing Fra minus
Edit 2: Navidi not back

FYI - This should be the French squad for Saturday night game vs Italy :

Neti, Mauvaka, Aldegheri - Geraci, Pesenti - Woki, Jelonch, Macalou -Serin, Jalibert - Villière, Danty, Barraque, Thomas - Dulin.

5 players who never played at international level, a lack of automatism and experience, some weak players (will not give any names) - on the bight side, the first row is used to play together (100% Toulouse), Macalou has been on fire, Serin & Jalibert used to play together and last but not least, SOAP's favourite 7s players on the field.

I am struggling to see that team smash Italy, or even to win the game so Italy +16.5 seems like a good move

Argentina: 15 Emiliano Boffelli, 14 Ramiro Moyano, 13 Juan Cruz Mallia, 12 Jeronimo de la Fuente, 11 Santiago Cordero, 10 Nicolas Sanchez, 9 Felipe Ezcurra, 1 Mayco Vivas, 2 Julian Montoya, 3 Santiago Medrano, 4 Guido Petti, 5 Lucas Paulos, 6 Pablo Matera (c), 7 Marcos Kremer, 8 Facundo Isa

Replacements: 16 Santiago Socino, 17 Nahuel Tetaz Chaparro, 18 Lucio Sordoni, 19 Matías Alemanno, 20 Santiago Grondona, 21 Gonzalo Bertranou, 22 Santiago Carreras, 23 Lucas Mensa

Only 5 of the team retained. Still going big in the + Handicap though.
No science or mathematics in this -just a bet forged in emotion.

I get that there will be physical and emotional exhaustion in the Argentinian side, but I am thinking that the loss of Diego will light a fire and pull out a big performance.
There hasn't been 3 days mourning in Argentina since the passing of Eva Péron

Don't enjoy betting against teams im a supporter of, but looking at the teams I just cant see how Wales will keep this close.

They may've had a small hope at full strength, but without Owens, Navidi, Tipuric & Liam Williams, they'll have next to no chance in my view.

Ireland completely out played them 2 weeks ago, then Ireland got totally smashed themselves last week by the English.
The gulf in class is enormous here.

Have taken England -13.5 @ 1.80

Awaiting tries/points lines, hoping for decent price on Wales under 1.5 tries

I took u57.5 when it came out initially and think this play will complement that nicely, I'm nervous about caps when it comes to playoffs but might go smalls on HB -24.5ish as I see value on the odds of them blowing it out
