It was one of those weekends where I just couldn't get going and eventually finished marginally up. This weeks newsletter best bet was a cricket one (a loser) but we did catch a nice 11.5/1 acca at Playbets

Sign up to the free weekly Goodforthegame betting mailer bit.ly/bettingmail

I never got too involved and it could be the calm before the storm with Rainbow Cup starting this weekend alongside Super Rugby and GPR. There is also Varsity Cup resuming on Thursday.

Here are my Super Rugby handicap projections (I am not going to attempt the Rainbow Cup yet)

Chiefs -6.5 v Hurricanes
Force +9.5 (not sure how Reds will approach this as guaranteed top spot)
Waratahs +0.5 v Rebels
Crusaders -6.5 v Blues

Strong on Crusaders minus this weekend, looking around there is some -5 available.

Expecting a big improvement and focus on possession this week with a few guys returning and desire to secure top spot in table.

Blues just too unreliable at moment and expecting a win margin in double digits for Saders.

Early Prem pick from us:

Quins -5.5 vs London irish @ evens.

Midday kick off. Perfect forecast. Quins with a 2 week break after this gameweek. Can honestly see it being quins by 30+

Stoked up my Sunbet acct again - too many juicy offerings this weekend, and time for me to claw-back some losses. Taken:
Exeter -1.5
Harlequins -6.5
Northampton +2.5
Leinster -6.5
But I've taken a big juicy 48.64 acca (9) with those four h/caps, and five straight winners, being:
Sale. Glasgow. Gloucester. Bulls. Ospreys.

Then the question popped into my head: I wonder if any NZ Aotearoa games are happening ?
Then I thought, I don't really care :)

Bite the bookies boys :beer

Hard to fully trust the Chiefs but I trust the Canes even less and their bench doesn't look up to much in the back particularly.

Fair go on the -5

Agree on the Crusaders sentiments and happy to take -6

Reds clearly taking the game seriously, full strength near enough so adding -9 to see off the Force

Does anybody know why bookies are not pricing the Ulster vs Connacht game on Friday ?

Big strike on Waratahs +9.5 at 8/10

Also take Waratahs board at 2.8/1 and Tahs 1-12 at 3.5/1

Tahs over 19.5 at 9/10

Bullish on the men from Sydney this weekend.

Cos.....99% of the world knows/assumes Ulster will play reserves.

And another main reason is that Paddy Power hasnt priced this up, so no one else has the bollocks or robots to track their prices.

If PP dont go up, normally no one else goes up in rugby world.

Great show lads last night . I'm not an after result merchant but pleased I followed the unders at 50.5 as my only bet and there was definitely some squeaky bum time at the end .
I'm on Tah's plus and outright tomorra .
Can't back the Force on the plus but feel the cap is well set , instead sticking with unders 49.5 and hoping the Force can hog the ball for some time without troubling the scorers .

Rebels out of finals race, so have taken Tahs +8 @ 1.91

Don't enjoy betting against teams I support (Cardiff) but Ospreys lineup is much superior
Ospreys -4 @ 1.91

On Crusaders -5 @ 1.91 from earlier in the week

Back to the square on the day after unders doesn't arrive in Perth. Could only find plus 6.5 the Tahs and some 22/10 outright .

Tonight I'm all over Bristol and think they have a great chance of winning as well .
In Belfast on the minus 8.5 Ulster for smaller

Both over 20.5 and Tahs win 11/4. Rebels win 9/5. Surely worth a couple of points

Chiefie is back, back again.

Irish v Quins at 12:30.
Awesome weather and two teams scoring points.
Flying in to over 58.5 points @5/6
Both teams to score 20+ points and Quins to win @6/4 (skybet).

Also being shown on channel 5 in the UK, where I used to head up the sports marketing, so that’s a good omen.

Expecting a 45-30 scoreline.

Coil, this ones for you brother :beer :beer

Forgotten why I hate Matthew Carley so much. What a prick. Reffed the Bordeaux v Racing semi, worst game of rugby, now this. Should be reffing schoolboy level.

From a Leinster perspective, focus and preperation for next week's massive fixture vs La Rochelle or a measly Rainbow Cup opener against Munster?

Munster winning margin by 1 - 12 @ 2/1

Gave that a lotta thought before putting my loot onto Leinster: I think they're bigger than that, have the depth to hurt Munster (yet again), and be ready to beat La Roch next week too.
May the best... etc.

Kept my powder dry this weekend for this game, now quite involved. Hay fever has me awake so will be watching.

Dragons vs Scarlets

It's a lovely day in Newport, if a little windy, and that wind could make life difficult for kickers. Therefore I will go for the tries instead of total points.

The Dragons' coach wants to test seven or eight of their youngsters to give them good competitive experiences over the coming months.
The Scarlets have had a lot of internationals away for a long time, and now they will have them back in the shirt.

Bet 1: Scarlets -4.5 @1.84
Bet 2: Scarlets over 3.5 tries @1.90

Jeez that Saders not reaching 31 points broke me, had a big double from Munster overs and despite nailing the newsletter best bet and 3 of the 4 previews I found a way to lose this weekend.

Loads of rugby ahead though and fortunatly no real damage done
