It was a pretty good weekend for me with Griffons o12.5 points delivering the Newsletter Bet before half time and the Bulls game was very profitable mainly thanks to the overs play landing.

Get on our newsletter mailing list - it's the right thing to do! bit.ly/bettingmail

The bookies must have cleaned up with Sharks beat the Lions (who were well backed) but fortunately I never got heavily involved in that one.

We have another week off before internationals and the NPC starts so the focus is on Currie Cup once again.

Here are my handicap projections for week 5

Cheetahs +3.5 v Bulls
Pumas -7.5 v Sharks
WP -52.5 v Griffons
Griquas +5.5 v Lions

I look forward to your thoughts

Currie Cup handicaps are out at WSB - theirs in brackets

Cheetahs +3.5 (+5.5) v Bulls
Pumas -7.5 (-8.5) v Sharks
WP -52.5 (-40.5) v Griffons
Griquas +5.5 (+8.5) v Lions

A big difference in the WP v Griffons game and unless there is team news in the WP camp I have not seen I am battling to see why. WP won by 49 in Welkom with a side showing plenty of changes and I guess last weeks Griffons showing against the Cheetahs is influencing the handicap. That was against a Cheetahs team also showing plenty of changes and I xpect regular service to resume in Cape Town and am taking the -40.5

Taken under 57.5 points at 17/20 in Cheetahs game after 12 mins. Field looks heavy

At 10-3 at halftime I was counting my winnings and then the high scoring 2nd half.

Will be looking at Griffons overs today. Can't back a team with Clayton Blommetjies at 10.

That over 60.5 points in the Pumas clash looks juicy. My only concern is the fact that we have the Sharks involved in this clash lol.

Griffons over 13.5 - far too low against an average WP team on a cool but sunny day in Cape Town.
Big strike.

WP to win by 1-12 @14
Small strike but couldn’t resist

Nice one BB! That was my main strike of weekend and cruises home in style. Love a good Currie cup try fest.

Today's CC game just feels like the books can't price points high enough to not want to back overs. If the quote was 80.5 I would feel nervous taking the unders.

Don't like the Lions team on paper though so taking Griquas over 36.5 points at 2.15/1. Smaller bet total points over 72.5 at 2/1

This game promised so much. In the end it was just a boring scrum fest. What a terrible game.
