And my old favourite All About Al wins when I’ve backed him probably ever run the last 2 years but not on today...

Durbanville racing was very weird yesterday, first a 125/1 winner. Then Kamchatka who opened at 6/10 in the betting, drifted by race time to 22/10 and still won by over 3 lengths... Makes me laugh when guys say the bookies always know a poor performance hence a price drift.

Yes Bookies do have a lot more info than us, but still not all of it.

See Tarry is really stepping it up in GTG now, good feature seasons to look forward too in both centres. First round of Summer cup entries due out any day now I think, there is some pre-noms ante post betting available already though not planning on getting involved just yet

kt6747 wrote: Agree Naidoo, but Durbanville has been like that a few times of late. I remember a horse last week opening at around 12/10 and at the off was able to get 5/1. Won like an odds on shot.

Oh 100% KT, Also, definitely agree regarding the bookies and information.
Durbanville and also Kenilworth to an extent have been a tough centre to bet since the new ownership. I was looking at previous tote exotics for WC racing and over the last two months Durbanville PA payouts is averaging around R600 for a R250 000 pool.
As Chris mentioned, the August rains probably played a big role in these bomb results.
Very tough for punters, but I think that definitely adds to the sport. Gets very boring when favs win at a canter all the time. Especially when majority of the forum guys love beating the favs with bigger prices.

Will definitely be some nice racing. Not necessary to punt, but just to watch. Race 5 in JHB I think at a quick glance has 5 grade 1 winners. Of course prepping but always fund to watch.
And then in the Cape the up and coming 3 year olds meet.
Will be good to watch
An early 1 I like @ Durbanville is |Race 9, Handsome Prince @ 5/1. Well drawn and carrying no mass. Comes from some very strong formlines and getting 6.5Kg from the fav. Will take that and weight to places.
Will post more tonight

On Friday, last race at Fairview going to nibble on the win Ravilous, fancied this last time but no joy, thinking turf today will suit and hopefully make ammends, should be 5/1 or so, maybe a touch bigger.
Also, been watching some of the UK juvenlie races, haven't followed for years but took an interest this season. Race 2 at York on Friday, I'm with Stratusnine at around 13/2. Heavy / soft ground a bit of an unknown but form of what he has run against before has generally worked out and he was very green which might explain quite a break since last run. Looks like one of those races where runners are restricted to having come off certain sales, might be wrong there but its a nice purse and suspect / hope he has been laid out for this rather than chancing the graded races.
Winning Form previews ...

Turffontein R6 Guy Gibson at around 13/2, long been a fan of this horse, Muzi up and comeback run over 1200m was too short, up to 1450 today, 3rd run since gelding and second back from a break, plenty going for him although its very competitive
Turffontein R8 One Religion at around 6/1, really fancied this last time and it was punted but dropped away tamely, Computaform says clipped heels so excuses there and will give it another go today
Durbanville R7, Golden Angel at around 5/1, good race this although wide open. My pick closely matched with Mai Sensation on her debut run when she was unlucky in running and Mai Sensation had the experience of a previous outing, they both done nothing wrong since and look smart but slight preference for Golden Angel
Durbanville 9, Blue Holly at around 7/1, very speedy, will probably try and give them the slip from gaate 1 given the runners seemed to stay on inside rail last couple of meetings, hopefully will have enough to hold off those charging home
Other than that looking forward to watching the likes of One Stripe at Durbanville and some Summer Cup entries in action at Turffontein, enjoy guys, good luck

Turffontein
Race 1 - Sprit of Selvago @ 28/10 (WSB/HWB)
Drawn a bit wide but think last run is a a strong formline, so if repeats that hoping to get ahead of 2 other short priced.
Race 4 - Hawkbill @ 25/2 (HWB)
Had some really decent runs over distance behind top sorts in Home of the Brave and East Coast. Dropped 14 Points to probably where he should be.
Race 6 - Gimmeanotherchance @ 9/2
Top sort and trying to build up for season, but at the weights should go close if ratings to be believed, but also like yours Mackem, will include both in my Bi-Pot
Race 8 - One Religon
Will follow you Mackem, remember this one was abcked big time last time.
Have taken the above for an all to place as well.

T5 Beating Wings @ 15/2 ew
Yard in good form and has 2kg swing vs favourite on last meeting.
T6 Guy Gibson 13/2 ew
Has bumped top sorts in past and gelding may have done the trick as shaped up well in trip short of ideal last time out.

Beating Wings looks like will save me from the beating I’m taking on sharks right now.

Was very impressed with Frances Ethel run and see they got Oisin Murphy coming over to ride her in the Summer Cup, into 6/1 ante post now, big player, Royal is going to have to be at the top of his game to defend his title, his work at home is encouraging and our prep will come early November.
Think One World's connections will also be happy enough with that comeback run, looking forward to CPT racing getting back to Kenilworth, Durbanville a great place to visit and spend a day's racing but you want to see the best horses run on the best tracks.

Mar del Plata 10/1 ew in next
Price shortened just after placed bet to 15/2, think this one is overdue a 2nd career win and a bit unlucky last time out.
