Second placed Pirates have got 4 games in hand on Sundowns but the gap to the league leaders now stands at a whopping 18 points. The Bucs have played 3 league games in March and results have been mixed, causing them to lose ground in the title race. A 2-0 defeat away to Marumo Gallants was followed by a 1-0 win at Chippa but last time out they dropped more points after playing out a 0-0 draw away to Stellenbosch

Mamelodi Sundowns
With Sundowns have won 19, drawn and lost 2 of 22 league matches, scoring 50 goals, the highest in the Betway Premiership and conceding just 12 giving them the best stats at both ends of the park.
Since losing at TS Galaxy in mid February Downs have bounced back with 5 wins and 1 draw in their last 6 league outings. Most recently they were 2-0 winners at home to Amazulu whilst their previous road trip saw them play out a 0-0 draw at Golden Arrows.
Recent Head to Head
Pirates crashed 4-1 at Sundowns in the first league meeting this season which came in early February.
Pirates did have Sundowns number in the MTN8 and Nedbank Cup last season but they haven't beaten Downs in a league game since the 2019/20 campaign.
