Spurs 22/10 Draw 31/10 Man City evens
Three straight wins in the EPL for Spurs have seen them move up to 12th position but still 10 points off a top 6 place. The much needed sequence of wins started at Brentford (2-0), they were 1-0 winners against Man United in their most recent home game and at the weekend they thumped Ipswich 4-1 away from home. Spurs will be in Europa League Round of 16 but they are no longer in the FA Cup.
City have had a poor last 7 days or so, bowing out of the UCL pretty tamely with a 3-1 defeat to Real in Madrid (lost 6-3 on aggregate) and on Sunday they lost a league game 2-0 at home to Liverpool. Erling Haaland missed the Liverpool game through injury so watch the team news concerning his well being. Last time City were in London they crashed 5-1 at Arsenal at the start of this month. They also lost an EFL Cup tie 2-1 to Spurs at this venue and the first league meeting in Manchester saw Spurs cruise to a 4-0 win.
The Verdict
Team news for both sides will be worth monitoring and the match result market looks tricky enough to me. Son has had a poor season in my book but 4 assists in the last 3 league games suggest he is finding some form and I'm with him to register a goal on this occasion.
Bet: Anytime goalscorer Son at 5/2 with Sportingbet
Liverpool 0.52/1 Draw 3.75/1 Newcastle 9/2
After their 2-0 win at Manchester City on Sunday Liverpool's lead at the top of the standings increased to a massive 11 points. They have played 1 game more than the pack below them but none of the chasers are displaying the sort of form required to make a race of it. Liverpool now take on Newcastle who they will also meet in the EFL Cup Final at Wembley next month and that is one of 3 trophy' they have on the radar.
Newcastle held on for a 4-3 home win over Forest on Sunday and they are in the scrum of a number of clubs looking for a top 4 (or possibly top 5) finish and Champions League football next season. They finished the previous round in fifth spot, behind Man City on goal difference with a number of teams on their heels. The last 13 Newcastle league games have seen 12 deliver at least 3 goals in total and 8 have seen a tally of at least 4.
The Verdict
The first league meeting this season finished 3-3 at St. James Park and last season Liverpool won this fixture 4-2. Whether we will a goal deluge I'm not so sure but with Conor Bradley out TAA should play the full 90 and I'm with home to provide an assist.
Elsewhere Evertonian Anthony Gordon should be heavily involved and I fancy frustration coulkd get the better of him.
