The latest Goodforthegame newsletter penned by @BrentGraham with best bets for the weekend 6th to 7th December including a 13.5/1 acca with @BetXchange

The Lions' win over the Bulls (at 11/2) was the weekend's shining light, but otherwise, it was another stop-start punting effort for me. Somehow, I managed to land on Wales +42.5 as the key leg in a few doubles and trebles, and that bet was dead and buried early on.

This week’s been a challenging one for other reasons. I was stationary at a robot on Wednesday when a car, reportedly driven by someone on her cellphone, smashed into the vehicle behind me, triggering a pile-up that took me and a few others out. Luckily, no one was injured, but the admin fallout has been draining. I’m very much looking forward to unwinding with some Champions Cup rugby today.

My plays will be added to the Investec Champions Cup blog.

It was just Oracle and myself on Thursday’s show and we focused mainly on the SA games. Oracle may also have strayed into some cricket

Weekend Plays

I have been really battling for momentum and truth be told I am a bit frustrated with my form at the moment. This is a weekend where a lot of the teams are unfamiliar to me (in that I don't watch them week in and week out) and so generally speaking I will be treading cautiously.

Points to flow at Loftus

That being said, there was one bet I had been waiting for, and I was ready to pounce as soon as the bookmakers priced up. The Bulls v Bordeaux clash was the match in question. I was hoping for a total points line in the mid-50s so I could strike on the overs.

It opened at 59.5 though, and I hesitated. The line has now moved to 62.5, and I’ve got that missed-the-boat feeling. That said, I see the likes of The Admiral (who got the early 59.5) is still happy to wade in at the 61 to 62 level, and I think he’s right.

Conditions at Loftus should be good, and points should flow much like when these sides last met in January 2024 when the Bulls won 46-40, and also like last week’s Bulls v Lions game which delivered 76 points.

The Bulls are slight favourites, but Bordeaux mean business, and it's the visitor points that are getting the bulk of my investment.

Bet: 5 units Bordeaux over 29.5 points at 17/20 at Hollywoodbets

The Rugby Acca at 13.5/1

The good news is that there is plenty of Sunday rugby. The bad news is we don't have points markets yet. There are a couple of massive handicaps in the form of Leinster at -34.5 and Toulouse at -44.5 and given the team selections, I don’t think these caps are high enough, and I am throwing them into an acca along with last year’s finalists Northampton -5.5 and the Lions -8.5 in the Challenge Cup.

Opinion on the show was that the Lions cap should be a lot higher.

Leinster -34.5 at 19/20
Toulouse -44.5 at 10/11
Saints -5.5 at 9/10
Lions -8.5 at 10/11

Bet: 1 unit at 13.5/1 at Betxchange
