BettingDiaryA massive weekend of sports betting is highlighted by the Rugby World Cup and English Premier League action. We take a closer look in our weekend Betting Diary.

RUGBY WORLD CUP

There are 3 matches taking place on Saturday starting with Australia v Uruguay where Australia are (-51.5) points and then we have England v Argentina where England have firmed at (-14.5) points favourites and finally Japan v Samoa where the home team are (-19.5) to set up what should be a quarter-final decider against Scotland.

On Saturday’s action the bet we like the most is England (-14.5) against Argentina and you can click here to bet on England v Argentina and click here for betting on all of the weekend’s action.

We also have individual match previews on our Betting Blog, click here to access the blog.

On to Sunday and we have two matches with New Zealand taking on Namibia and this is the biggest handicap so far in the Tournament with New Zealand currently (-70.5) against the Namibian side who lost by 54 against what was a pretty disappointing South African team. The big handicaps haven't been arriving for the favourites, but we can’t see Namibia standing in the way of a massive All Black victory.

Perhaps a better betting heat could be France v Tonga where France will certainly have one eye on their clash with England and Tonga on the (+25.5) handicap may be the way to go.

Rugby World Cup aside there is plenty of other Rugby action on including Pro 14 where the Kings are at home to Munster and are 13.5 point underdogs and the Cheetahs are at home to Ulster and would be looking to build on last weeks big win over Glasgow. They are (-7.5) on the handicap and we think that could be worth a play.

The Mitre10 Cup continues this weekend and for betting on all Rugby Matches click this link.

SOCCER

There is a full house of English Premier League action although no real blockbuster clashes to talk of. Table toppers Liverpool do face a tough home encounter against high flying Leicester, but they are 9/20 for the win with Leicester 23/4 and the draw at 15/4. Liverpool home games tend to be high scoring and over 3.5 goals at 14/10 is our play here.

The SA MTN 8 Final takes place this weekend with surprise package Highlands Park up against SuperSport United.

SuperSport are the favourites for the match at 5/4 with the draw 2/1 and Highlands Park 5/2. In South African Cup competitions the draw is always a big runner after 90 minutes and it is also no surprise to see under 2.5 goals priced as short as 9/20.

HORSE RACING

Local Horse Racing takes place at Turffontein and Durbanville on Saturday and Greyville on Sunday.

On Saturday the Turffontein 9 race card gets off at 12:20 and finishes at 17:10. Vistula, Horse No 8 is a 5/2 favourite in the 6th race, but we fancy the second favourite, Gin Fizz at a current price of 11/2.

The 8th Race Durbanville card gets going at 13:15 and is scheduled to conclude at 17:30. Front and Centre, the 7/10 favourite in the 6th race will be a popular Pick Six banker on the day.

On Sunday the Greyville Turftrack meeting gets going at 12:45 with the 8th and final race scheduled to go off at 17:05. We haven't had a chance to study this card yet, but do have a liking for the Paul Lafferty trained, Dark Moon Rising, the top weight, in race number 4 at a current price of 9/2.
