BettingDiaryThe UEFA Champions League returns on Tuesday night and it is certainly the highlight of the live sporting calendar. We take a closer look at a couple of the matches in our Daily Diary.

FOOTBALL

Group E through to H are the first into action on Tuesday night and the Group E clash between Napoli and Liverpool is bound to be one of the more popular ones with punters.

Napoli have won 2 of their first 3 League encounters including beating Sampdoria 2-0 at home last time out. Their only defeat was a thrilling 4-3 away loss at Juventus.

Defending Champions, Liverpool, have made a great start to their League campaign winning all 5 of their matches including beating Newcastle 3-1 at home on the weekend.

Napoli are 2/1 with the draw 51/20 and Liverpool favourites at 13/10. Both Liverpool and Napoli have been playing in some high scoring games of late and we can’t see Liverpool adopting a conservative approach bringing the over 3.5 goals into play at 31/20.

The other clash which catches the eye on the night is Dortmund at home to Barcelona. Dortmund are the underdogs for this one at 9/4 with the draw 27/10 and the Spanish giants 11/10 for the victory.

Dortmund have won 3 and lost 1 of their League fixtures and on the weekend they hammered Bayern Leverkusen 4-0 at home. Barcelona have made a somewhat subdued start to the League with a defeat and a draw coupled with their 2 victories and on the road they have drawn at Osasuna and lost to Atletico Bilbao. Given Barcelona’s slightly wobbly start to the season we think the home team can get a draw out of this one.

Locally we have the MTN8 Second Leg Semi-Finals taking place this weekend and on Tuesday night we have Highlands Park at home to Polokwane City with the sides having drawn the opening leg 0-0.

Polokwane were impressive in beating Kaizer Chiefs on the weekend and although they haven't had much time to recover we fancy them to get the win here at a price of 9/4.
