BettingDiaryThe Rugby Championship match between New Zealand and South Africa in Wellington is the highlight of what is potentially a very exciting sporting weekend.

RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP AND CURRIE CUP

New Zealand take on South Africa in the first Rugby Championship Match of the weekend with the match kicking off at 09h35 South African time.  The handicap has been fairly stable all week and New Zealand are currently (-10.5).  There are loads of markets for punters to get involved in, including first try scorer where Cheslin Kolbe is a 14/1 shot.

Australia take on Argentina in Brisbane and money continues to flood on to the Argentines with the handicap now 4.5 points having started at 8.5.  This will certainly be a massive test for both sides and we fancy Argentina to get a result here, but it should be close and the Argentina win for under 12 points appeals at 28/10.

In the Currie Cup Free State take on the Griquas in a local Derby and they are (-9.5) against a side that currently top the table.  They were very impressive last week against the Bulls, but the Griquas have been in good form and we think they can beat the handicap.

The final game of the weekend sees Western Province take on the Golden Lions and here the home team are (-12.5) despite a disappointing away loss to the Sharks last week.  The Lions are coming off a bye and will need their youngsters to step up to the plate if they had to cause an upset.

CARLING BLACK LABEL CUP

Kaizer Chiefs play Orlando Pirates in the Carling Black Label Cup and it is Pirates who go into the game as slight favourites.  There is seldom much between these sides and the draw should certainly get some interest from punters at around the 2/1 mark.

TOUR DE FRANCE

Stage 20 of the Tour de France is the last chance for anybody looking to win the Yellow Jersey to make their move.  It is a brute of a stage with some serious climbing and given how hard the couple of stages before it have been, there is every chance we will get big gaps between the contenders.

Our Outright Betting Markets are updated after each stage and you can bet on the Stage Winner as well as Head-to-Head Matchups between the riders.

Sunday’s stage finishes on the Champs Elysees in Paris and will no doubt come to a sprint, by this stage we will know who is going to win the Tour, but it is always very exciting to see the break chased down and the sprinters who have made it through the mountains fight it out.

GOLF, THE WGC ST JUDE INVITATIONAL

The WGC St Jude continues throughout the weekend and there will be betting updated at the end of each day as well as in-running betting during the Tournament.

FINA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Water Polo Finals for the men take place on Saturday, Croatia and Hungary will play for the bronze medal and Spain and Italy will contest the final and the bookmakers are struggling to separate the pair.  Spain are currently 23/20, Italy 5/4 and the draw 5/1.

HORSE RACING

Saturday sees Horse Racing at Kenilworth in Cape Town with Race 1 going off at 11h15 and the 8th and final race at 15h30, but the majority of betting turnover will take place at Greyville where we have a host of feature races taking place including the WSB Champions Cup in Race 9.  Buffalo Bill Cody currently tops the betting at 16/10 ahead of Rainbow Bridge at 2/1 and the field is packed with quality.  The top 2 on the betting boards will be hard to beat, but we do fancy Twist of Fate for a place at 5/2.

On Sunday racing is at Turffontein with the opener off at 12h45 and the 8th and final race at 16h55.

F1

The German Grand Prix takes place on Sunday and with this being written prior to qualification, betting is likely to change, but Lewis Hamilton is currently 6/10 favourite.
