BettingDiaryTour de France, Horse Racing from the Vaal and the Water Polo quarter-finals are among Tuesday’s Sporting highlights and we take a closer look at some of the betting options available.

TOUR DE FRANCE

The Tour de France riders return from a rest day to tackle what looks a fairly straight forward Stage 16.  The betting suggests that it will come down to a sprint, with Dylan Groenewegen the 16/10 favourite ahead of Caleb Ewan at 5/2.

At this stage of the Tour there are plenty of tired legs and there is a possibility of some cross-winds so while a sprint finish looks almost nailed on, it is certainly not guaranteed.  We do think it will eventually end in a bunch gallop though and given the 2nd place money back promo, the 16/10 Dylan Groenewegen, the fastest man in the field, looks worth taking.

FINA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

The Men’s Water Polo quarter-finals take place on Tuesday and while Croatia are very short at 1/33 to beat Germany and Hungary 2/9 to beat Australia, the other two quarters are very competitive with Serbia 5/4 to beat Spain who are 21/20 with the draw at 23/4 and Italy are 21/20 to beat Greece with the draw 11/2 and Greece 13/10.

HORSE RACING

Local Horse Racing takes place at the Vaal on Tuesday with an 8 race card scheduled to get going at 12h45 with the 8th and final race scheduled for 16h55.

Race 5 has been priced has been priced as a two horse race between Gold Griffin and Turf Master at 12/10 and 16/10 and while the pair should be involved in the business end we like the chances of number 4, Smart Deal currently priced at 10/1.

TENNIS

The Hamburg Open continues on Tuesday where we have some fairly competitive looking betting heats.  Some of the big boys are also stepping out for the first time since Wimbledon and the double of Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev to win their respective matches works out at a shade under 5/6.
