BettingDiaryAfter a couple of quiet days the live sport action ramps up on Wednesday and we take a look at some of the options available to punters in our Betting Diary.

AFCON 2019

It is a game no one really wants to play, but Tunisia and Nigeria meet for third place in the African Cup of Nations at 21h00 on Wednesday night.  Tunisia are currently 41/20 underdogs with Nigeria 15/10 to win the game in 90 minutes and the draw quoted at 41/20.

We suggested in our Tuesday diary that over 2.5 goals could be worth a play given the match is for third place and the teams may drop their guard and another option may be both teams to score at 19/20.  Looking for a more speculative play? How about the correct score, 2-2 after 90 minutes at just over 16/1?

TOUR DE FRANCE

The riders would have enjoyed their rest day on Tuesday, but it is back to business in the Tour de France and Stage 11 should be one for the sprinters with Groenewegen priced at the 18/10 favourite ahead of Viviani at 5/2.  Ewan is unfortunately still to win a stage and he is 4/1 with green jersey wearer, Sagan at 13/2.  You can get 14/1 and better the field and we feel that the 18/10 about Groenewegen is justified and that he will win this stage as he is the fastest man in the field and has a very strong team. Note the money back for 2nd place details on the Promo banner below.

The Outright Markets have also been updated and Geraint Thomas has shortened to a 6/10 favourite ahead of his teammate, Egan Bernal on 7/2, Nairo Quintana is 12/1 and you can get 14/1 and better the balance.

NETBALL WORLD CUP AND WATER POLO WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS

Netball and Water Polo are two sports that are not usually thought of by sports betters, but with live coverage of both events they are starting to attract a lot of interest.

For the early birds the South African men are in action against New Zealand in the Water Polo World Championships on Wednesday morning at 05h30 and they go into the game as 49/20 underdogs with New Zealand priced at 5/10 and the draw at 7/1.

HORSE RACING

Local Horse Racing takes place at Greyville on Wednesday with the first race on an 8 race card scheduled to go off at 12h20 and the 8th race at 16h25.

Our fancy runs in the 8th race, a very open event over 2000 metres and we are expecting a big run from Crystal Ball at 5/1.

THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP

The Open Championship gets going on Thursday and you can click here for outright betting where Rory Mcilroy remains the favourite at 17/2.

An interesting market is the Straight Forecast where the shortest price is 90/1 that being Mcilroy to beat Brooks Koepka and you can also get 90/1 for Koepka to beat Mcilroy.  For your bet to win they need to run 1st and 2nd in that order.  We fancy Rory to win on home turf and with Koepka’s consistency, who knows perhaps that 90/1 shot could arrive.
