Aston Villa are going into a clash against a serious opposition on the back of 3 consecutive losses. The club was not afraid to spend in the January transfer window with the Brazilian Phillipe Coutinho adding a heap of attacking power to the Birmingham side. However, they now find themselves in 11th spot with the fans asking questions and demanding a win. Their last 3 losses were all by a 1-goal margin but facing a Tottenham outfit who are on a high-scoring streak will be a bigger challenge. The Villans will need to put in extra effort tomorrow evening if they want to avoid another loss, which in reality is difficult with the trio of Heung Min-son, Harry Kane and Steven Bergwijn rarely missing the net week-in and week-out.
Tottenham
The London side has now found itself in a strong position as a contender for next season`s Champions League campaign. Tottenham go into the fixture with a confident morale after thrashing Newcastle 5-1 last weekend. As mentioned previously, Spurs have a one-to-watch trio upfront with Heung Min-son scoring 14 league-goals so far this season and they are not limited to just their attackers as their deeper players have also found themselves on the scoresheet. All-in-all, Conte has a very dangerous squad at his disposal travelling to Birmingham and although they might let a goal slip past Lorris as they have done in their last 5 out of 10 EPL games, I think they will take all 3 points from Villa Park.
Verdict
Tottenham`s 3-game winning streak and Aston Villa`s 3-game losing streak tells us a lot about this fixture. Although Aston Villa have the ability to give Tottenham a real challenge, I do not think they will do enough to put a halt to Conte`s Champions League chase.
