NRL ROUND 3 – SATURDAY & SUNDAY MATCHES

The Cowboys spoiled what was destined to be a pearler of a weekend. But with Kikau delivering and the Rabbitohs and our treble delivering nicely we still enjoyed a great Week2. Let’s try and keep that form going into the weekend action in Week 3 of NRL 2021.

CANBERRA RAIDERS vs NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS – Sat 27 Mar @ 06:00, Canberra

A Bradman Best special cost the Warriors at the death last week. The Raiders snuck past the Sharks in another slip and slide contest. The Raiders are specialists at just getting the job done - its tough having confidence in them dishing out a beating but I don’t see them slipping up against a Kiwi side missing Harris-Tavita and Taunoa-Brown.

BRISBANE BRONCOS vs CANTERBURY BULLDOGS – Sat 27 Mar @ 08:30, Brisbane

Both teams were hopeful of a better 2021 yet find themselves 0 from 2 early doors. Improvement was expected from the Bulldogs but we haven’t really seen this as they couldn’t even get on the board against the Panthers last week. The Broncos were well and truly shown that the balance of power has shifted in Queensland when they had to bend the knee to the Titans in Week 2. There has been a touch more to get excited about from the Brisbane side and believe it or not I think they have the ideal opportunity to bust their losing streak on Saturday.

PARRAMATTA EELS vs CRONULLA SHARKS – Sat 27 Mar @ 10:35, Parramatta

The Eels stuttered out of the blocks in the opening week but showed their pedigree by beating the Storm in the wet las time out. The Sharks came up bitterly short to the Raiders but I don’t see them turning a close loss into victory this time around. The Eels should have way too much fire power for Cronulla.

NEWCASTLE KNIGHTS vs WEST TIGERS – Sun 28 Mar @ 07:05, Newcastle

The Tigers have had little to get excited about in 2021 whilst the Knights will take plenty of confidence from their late heroics against the Warriors. Wests have only managed three tries thus far but I am expecting some points in this one. The home side should come out victorious but the handicap has one concerned that a late score could trip you up.

NORTH QUEENSLAND COWBOYS vs GOLD COAST TITANS – Sun 28 Mar @ 09:15, Townsville

Much was expected of the Gold Coast side and after a bad start in Round 1 they were able to well and truly give the rest of Queensland notice by beating the Broncos in Brisbane last week. This time around it is their other neighbours that need to be chopped down to size for the Titans to stand head and shoulders above the others in this state. The Cowboys have struggled whilst their visitors are on a high – the Titans should take this one with the likes of Fifita and Fa’asuamaleaui doing the hard yards up front.
