NRL ROUND 16 – SATURDAY & SUNDAY MATCHES
Let’s take a look at the weekend’s action in Round 16 of the NRL.
Bulldogs vs Sea Eagles – Sat 03 Jul @ 07:00, Sydney
Tommy Turbo has the world spinning around his axis at present. Despite victory over the Dragons a few weeks ago the Bulldogs are still sucking and the Eagles are still soaring. The Bulldogs will do well to keep things tidy here but I do give them a chance of scrapping away and coming out of this one with (wat’s left of it) their pride somewhat intact. (They did lose by 26 to both the Panthers and Eels so the cap does seem well set).
RAIDERS vs TITANS – Sat 03 Jul @ 09:30, Canberra
The Titans have now lost four of their past five matches but their opponent on Saturday has hardly set the boards alight in 2021. Neither of these teams excite me terribly but I have to side with the value here on a Gold Coast side who have proven capable of scoring plenty of points
KNIGHTS vs COWBOYS – Sat 03 Jul @ 11:35, Newcastle
It’s been difficult getting a grip on where exactly the Knight are at present. In Round 13 they were humbles 40-4 by the Eels yet managed to beat Manly a month ago. The Cowboys have been better of late but shipped 50 to the Sea Eagles and came up short to the Sharks at home last week. In Newcastle and with Ponga in their ranks one has to expect the Knights should get the job done.
BRONCOS vs SHARKS – Sun 04 Jul @ 06:00, Brisbane
Cronulla are on a golden run whilst the Broncos are… well they are the Broncos! Somewhere along the line you just know the Brisbane side will trip up a big scalp but it’s hard seeing it happen this weekend. Magic Johnson and Mulitalo should have their way with the horsies.
TIGERS vs RABBITOHS – Sun 04 Jul @ 08:05, Sydney
Things should be nice and open and attacking in this one. Both sides have entertained this season. The Tigers come into this clash off the back of two bad losses but I still see them contributing to the scoring so points is where I’m heading here.
