NRL ROUND 9 – THURSDAY & FRIDAY MATCHES
It was hardly a vintage week for me as the Roosters pecked away at the chances of the Knights whilst the Dragons and Tigers delivered a dire showing on Sunday. It’s about time we turned things around on the betting front!
SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS vs MELBOURNE STORM – Thu 06 May @ 11:50, Sydney
The Rabbitohs and Storm are both on a good run but are destined for this collision course in Sydney on Friday. The Melbourne side won’t be keen on a third loss and despite missing Papenhuyzen they will fancy their chances of tripping up a Bunnies side struggling with injury issues. There are movements aplenty for Bennett’s backs as Walker will remain at fullback in the absence of Latrell whilst rookie Dean Hawkins gets the opportunity to prove why Souths aren’t exactly racing to secure Reynolds’ signature going forward. I am not confident on calling the cap in this one but it should be a humdinger.
PENRITH PANTHERS vs CRONULLA SHARKS – Fri 07 May @ 10:00, Penrith
It’s still a clean record for the Panthers having now gone eight from eight in 2021. With the Bunnies and Storm crossing swords and the Eels facing the Roosters the Panthers will look to get the job done on Friday and then survey the damage caused to the campaign of their biggest rivals elsewhere over the weekend. With four straight losses and leaking points by the bucket load at present this is shaping up to be a difficult trip for the Sharkies who look dangerously close to going belly-up.
PARRAMATTA EELS vs SYDNEY ROOSTERS – Fri 07 May @ 11:55, Parramatta
I keep waiting for the Roosters to finally realise they are dangerously close to fielding a fully-fledged B team yet the Tri Colours keep churning out the results with young sensation Sam Walker pulling the strings. The Eels are immense at home at Bankwest and again I find myself opposing the might Roosters – I don’t see them crowing after this one.

The buck stops here. At Bankwest I expect the Eels to finally pull the tail feathers of an injury plagued Roosters side.
Double: Eels to win onto Dragons to win @ 1.98
The Dragons might have hit a brick wall with regard to early season form and momentum but a clash against the Bulldogs gives them the best possible chance to
get back their mojo.
