NRL ROUND 5 – THURSDAY & FRIDAY MATCHES

The Panthers and Bunnies came home with plenty of room to spare and whilst the Storm snuck in one too many Xavier Coates delivered to make it a very profitable start to the NRL weekend. Let’s look at the early action from Round 5 for some more juicy picks.

SOUTH SYDNEY RABBITOHS vs BRISBANE BRONCOS – Thu 08 Apr @ 11:50, Sydney

A Round 4 victory over the Dogs might have given some Broncos fans a touch of hope but clearly that result was more a reflection of exactly how poor the Bulldogs are at present. Even without a suspended Cody Walker this Rabbitohs side are poised to put the boot into the hapless Brisbane side. The Storm seemingly cut their opponents open at will last week so I can’t look past a Bronco bashing in Sydney on Thursday.

NEW ZEALAND WARRIORS vs MANLY SEA EAGLES – Fri 09 Apr @ 10:00, Gosford

Manly continued their slide as the table-topping Panthers handed them an embarrassing hiding in front of their own home fans. The Warriors slipped to defeat against the Roosters despite an industrious opening 20-odd minutes. The Kiwi’s will be without Fonua-Blake but with no Turbo to resuscitate them I see the Sea Eagles sinking rather than soaring this weekend.

PENRITH PANTHERS vs CANBERRA RAIDERS – Fri 09 Apr @ 11:55, Penrith

They may be the big cats but they are striding around like the big dogs of the comp at this stage. After four rounds the men in black have let in a mere 16 points. The table toppers should be made to sweat a bit by the workman-like Raiders in this clash but one just can’t see the minor Premiers of 2020 being tripped up at home given their current form.

BETOLIMP BETS

Double: Rabbitohs -14.5 onto Warriors to win @ 1.90 (Best Bet)

Manly are terrible at present and the Broncos aren’t going to be able to contain a Bunnies side attacking them from all parts.

Panthers -3.5 at Half Time @ 1.77

The Panthers are notoriously fast starters and I will back them continuing in this vein.
