SUPER RUGBY AOTEAROA – 20 & 21 March

The two best bets came through for us in Week 3 with the Crusaders keeping the Chiefs under 17.5 points and the double arriving quite comfortably as well. So the request for Round 4 is to keep the best bets coming but to try and snare an exotic as well…

Hurricanes vs Chiefs – Saturday 20 Mar @ 08:05, Wellington

The Chiefs put in another bright first half effort but lost all speed and force soon enough – much like me on a treadmill. The Hurricanes return from their bye week.

Both teams have suffered two losses and as a point of reference similar margins of defeat were felt at the hands of the Crusaders over the past two weeks. The Hurricanes have home ground advantage in their favour but have lost Asafo Aumoa. Orbyn Ledger and Salesi Rayasi (in the starting line-up) are the other new faces to the regular Canes side. The Chiefs have also tinkered with their side but look to have a run-on 15 well capable of pushing their hosts all the way.

Blues vs Crusaders – Sunday 21 Mar @ 04:35, Auckland

Part 1 of what many expect to be the “Final”. These two have already shown themselves as comfortably the two best in this competition. The Blues will still be seen as the lessor of the two but they get the chance to make their mark when they host the Champions. The Blues have all the ingredients to dish up a spicy affair at Eden Park but can they keep their composure for a full 80 minute effort?

Betolimp Bets:

Half Time Double: Blues at first half (+6.5) onto Chiefs at first half (+1.5) @ 2.37 (Best Bet)

The Chiefs have been right in the mix after the first forty of both their matches. The Blues should be seriously fired up in front of their home fans and facing the Premiers.

Double: Chiefs +8.5 onto Blues +7.5 @ 1.81

I don’t see the Canes or the Crusaders storming away with things against their respective opponents.

Hurricanes vs Chiefs - Exotics

HT/FT Margin: Chiefs (1-8) / Hurricanes (1-12) @ 9.50

The Chiefs have started fast but struggled to keep their momentum for the full 80 minutes.

First Tryscorer: Brad Weber @ 17.00

Sticking with Weber one final time and since I’m backing a fast Chiefs start I like this play.

Salesi Rayasi to score 2 or more tries @ 9.50

Rayasi gets the chance to spread his wings and make his mark.

Last Tryscorer: Ardie Savea @ 21.00

The Hurricanes skipper to get the last try looks the right play for me.

Blues vs Crusaders - Exotics

HT/FT Margin: Blues (1-8) / Crusaders (1-12) @ 9.50

I give the Blues a very real shot at wining this but the Crusaders are a champion side who know how to steal victory from the jaws of defeat. This play looks a nice bit of value.

First Tryscorer: Akira Ioane @ 21.00

Expecting the Blues to start strong and Akira is surely due his meat pie.

Last Tryscorer: Whetu Douglas @ 26.00

Scored last week on his return. Crusaders could finish with a flourish, so this looks a good play.
