SUPER RUGBY AU – 19 & 20 March

Week 4 Down Under treated us royally! The Rebels squeaked over the line for us but it was the Reds that delivered in spades. Their narrow victory delivered our main pick for the game but the Half-Time full-time play added the icing on the cake.

Let’s try and find similar success this week.

Rebels vs Waratahs – Friday 19 Mar @ 10:45, Melbourne

The Rebels have stuttered thus far in the comp with only a couple of tries to show for their 240 minutes of hard graft thus far. This week the Melbourne side will get the opportunity to find their attacking flow against a hapless Tahs outfit who have leaked 16 tries in three outings. If the Rebels can’t break their try drought at home against this struggling Waratah side then they never will.

Betolimp Bets:

Double: Rebels -5.5 onto Reds -8.5 @ 1.80

I don’t quite trust the Rebels with confidence to all of a sudden put the boot in but they should have it in them to get close to the double figure mark in terms of winning margin. The Reds will dine out at Suncorp against an impotent Force attack but more of that later.

Waratahs to lead by 1-8 points at half time and Rebels to win by 13+ points @ 21.00

The Tahs could start plucky but I expect the Rebels to pull well clear in the end.

Reds vs Force – Saturday 20 Mar @ 10:45, Brisbane

The Reds return to Suncorp basking in the glory of putting forty points on the Brumbies and walking away with the “W” from Canberra – not an easy feat. The Force managed a mere 11 points against the Brumbies and a measly 7 over the Rebels. Things could get ugly for the visitors if the Reds don’t pitch up with a winner’s hangover.

Betolimp Bets:

Reds -14.5 @ 1.88

If their minds are firmly on the job I don’t see this cap being enough to keep the Reds honest. In terms of attacking strike-power they are miles ahead of their opponents and should win this one with ease.

Suliasi Vunivalu to score the first try and Reds to win @ 9.00

The League convert got himself on the board last week. With Daugunu out Vunivalu should be the main Reds threat.

Alex Mafi to score two or more tries @ 12.00

The Reds pack will fancy their chances of really bullying the Force into submission at Suncorp.

Bryce Hegarty to score the last try @ 21.00

Against the tired Force defence Hegarty’s energy could prove too much to handle.
