REDSCouch Critic previews Waratahs v Brumbies and Rebels v Reds in Round 7 of Super Rugby Australia including his best bets with @Olimp_SA

SUPER RUGBY AU – 02 & 03 April

It was as close to a stress-free weekend as you can get from a betting perspective. The alternative double was an absolute shoe-in, the HT/FT play delivered and Mafi produced the extras as well. If Easter Weekend treats us nearly as well as last week we will be in for a very festive period – regardless of whether us South Africans are shutdown by Cyril for the weekend.

Waratahs vs Brumbies – Friday 02 Apr @ 10:45, Sydney

The Brumbies were in dismissive mood last week in putting away the hapless Force. This time around they are tasked with backing that performance up against the other strugglers in the comp. The Waratahs have just seen their coach get the axe but it’s tough seeing how anything can shake these blokes back into a decent performance. The Brumbies have the pack and the backs to ensure that anything other than a sound beating will come as a surprise.

Betolimp Bets:

Double: Brumbies -13.5 onto Reds to win @ 2.12

The Tahs have shown zero to get excited about. The Rebels are decent but not at the level of the table-topping Reds. It’s Reds all day in that clash and I like this double as my main play in Aus this weekend.

Anytime Tryscorer: Pete Samu @ 2.50

The big boy could prove tough to contain charging off the back of a strong scrum.

Last Tryscorer: Lachlan Lonergan @ 15.00

I’m sticking to my theory of the Brumbies finishing with their trademark rolling thunder at the death.

Rebels vs Reds – Saturday 03 Apr @ 10:45, Melbourne

The Reds are still flying high atop the Rugby AU table. Along with the Brumbies they have proven a class above the rest. The Rebels are certainly not at the dismal levels of the Force or the Tahs but they don’t have the attacking capacity of the two juggernauts above them. The Reds should find it well within their capabilities to hand the Melbourne men their third loss of the campaign.

Betolimp Bets:

Reds -9.5 @ 2.75

The Reds have the fire power at their disposal to possibly pull well clear in the end.

Brandon Paenga-Amosa to score the first try and Reds to win @ 23.00

Mafi stole all the tuckshop money and helped himself to three pies last week. This time around the starting hooker will want to get his own back.

Last Tryscorer: Filip Daugunu @ 11.00

From the bench Daugunu should be in explosive mood.
