CWC Windies150Couch Critic previews Saturday's fifth T20 international between West Indies and South Africa including his best bets with @Olimp_SA

WEST INDIES vs SOUTH AFRICA 5th T20I, Grenada - 03 July @ 20:00

We move to… Oh no I mean we stay in Grenada yet again for this T20 series finale between the big hitting Windies and the stubborn Saffas.

Setting the Scene

After cruising to victory in their usual languid style in the opening encounter the hosts needed a fire cracker up the back side to kick back into gear in the fourth to ensure a thrilling decider on Saturday. Personally I feel the Islanders are better when they bat with the freedom allowed them when they bat first as oppose to having to construct a chase – the toss will thus be crucial in this regard.

From the South African perspective, they just haven’t been ably to find someone to assist De Kock with putting the bowler under pressure. The positive with the ball for the visitors has been the efforts of their spinners but the likes of Magala might be wondering when they will get the shot to replace a struggling Ngidi or possibly now an injured Nortje.

How I see it Playing Out

We have seen the spinners enjoy the Grenada conditions and this should continue to be the case as the ground now hosts its fifth straight game. West Indies will probably have to find a replacement who can challenge the visitors by way of spin in the absence of the injured Allen. We’ve said throughout that the home side have all the power but the Proteas have boxed clever to have the series all square going into the decider. It will prove a tough task but off the back of their spinners dominating again they will be in with a shot of stealing the series win.

Betolimp Best Bets

Top Windies Bowler – HA Walsh @ 5.00

With Allen out injured the Windies should roll out their leggie for this clash.

Top South Africa Batsman – Kyle Verreynne @ 8.00

Given the SA middle order troubles it surely is time to give Verreynne a run.

Man of the Match – Tabraiz Shamsi @ 21.00

Spin has proven king for the Proteas thus far. If SA win this one it’s down to De Kock and/or Shamsi.

Player to score most Sixes: LMP Simmons @ 11.00

Simmons was right in the mix in the previous match but a Pollard special cost me the bet. I’m happy to go again.
