BettingDiaryThere is Friday action in the DSTV Premiership and we take a closer look at the AmaZulu v Stellenbosch game and suggest a bet.

These sides are locked together in the middle of the table with AmaZulu 9th and Stellenbosch 10th level on points, but with slightly different goal difference.

AmaZulu broke a 4 match run without a victory when they beat Baroka 2-0 away last weekend. They haven't been great at home this season with just 2 wins in their 7 matches and they have only won 1 of their last 5 and have failed to score in 3 of their last 4 home games. AmaZulu matches have been very low scoring averaging just 2.2 goals each, but more importantly for punters had you been backing over 2.5 goals in each of their matches, you would only have won in 2 of the 13 games and 1 of the 7 matches they played at home.

Stellenbosch are without a win in their last 4 matches having drawn 3 and lost 1. Their last 2 games were at home, a goalless draw against Chiefs and a 3-2 loss to Baroka and on the road this season they have won once in 6 attempts and have drawn their last 2. Like AmaZulu, Stellenbosch matches in the PSL average 2.2 goals and 4 of the 13 matches would have seen you collect had you been backing over 2.5 goals and their stats on the road are very similar to their home stats as far as goals go.

This fixture finished 2-0 to AmaZulu last season with the reverse match at Stellenbosch ending 1-1.

AmaZulu 13/10

Draw 39/20

Stellenbosch 49/20

Suggested Bet: The draw at 39/20

Both these sides have drawn almost 50% of their matches this season so although we are getting just under 2/1 the draw there is actually some value in the price. They are locked together on the log and I don’t see much separating them on the day.

If you are a goals punter you can get 29/20 that there will be 3 goals or more in the match and 5/10 under 2.5 goals and if I was to have a go at the correct score I would go at 1-1 at 9/2
