BettingDiaryAston Villa put their 100% record on the line when they take on Leeds in Friday night English Premier League action. We take a look at the game from a betting angle.

Villa narrowly avoided relegation last season, but they have been on fire since the new season kicked off, winning all 4 games. Last time out they beat fellow high-flyers, Leicester 1-0 away and their two home games have been a 7-2 win over Liverpool and a 1-0 win over Sheffield United.

Leeds have made a promising if unspectacular start and sit 10th on the table, 8 positions behind Aston Villa and having played a game more. They have won 2, lost 2 and drawn 1 of their 5 matches and last time out lost 1-0 at home to Wolves, but prior to that they drew 1-1 with City on the road. They played in some high scoring fixtures early on with 7 goals in each of their first 2 matches, but since then the next 3 games have all delivered for under 2.5 goal backers.

While Leeds are newcomers to the EPL it wasn’t that long ago that these teams met in the Championship back in 2018/2019 and this fixture was won 3-2 by Leeds with the reverse fixture drawn 1-1.

Aston Villa 13/10

Draw 26/10

Leeds 21/10

Suggested Bet: Aston Villa win at 13/10

When a team like Aston Villa performs above expectations punters tend to expect them to come down to earth, but at 13/10 I think they represent a decent bet against a Leeds side that has performed well, but not to the level that Aston Villa has. Villa’s 7-2 home win over Liverpool may have been something of a freak result, but any team that can beat Liverpool by 5 goals deserves to be backed at anything above even money in this fixture.

I have a feeling that there could be goals in the game and I see Over 2.5 goals priced at 7/10, I am going to leave this alone, but if I was venturing into the goals markets I would be going Over 3.5 goals at 33/20.
