We take a look at the Autumn Nations Cup matches taking place this weekend from a betting angle.
WALES v ENGLAND – Click here to bet
This match is taking place in Llanelli and even on a good day the weather is poor there.
Wales laboured to an 18-0 win over Georgia in greasy conditions last week and that was on the back of a 32-9 defeat to Ireland away in their opening game.
England also played Georgia in wet conditions first up winning 40-0 and they then started quickly against Ireland at Twickenham, building up a handy lead eventually winning 18-7 with a strong second- half defence display.
BETTING
Wales 13/2
Draw 35/1
England 1/7
Handicap: Wales (+14.5) at 9/10, England (-14.5) at 9/10
Suggested Bet: Handicap, England (-14.5) at 9/10
Wales have a strong record against England and they are not often beaten by a lot, but I am not at all impressed by this Welsh team and think England can take control and win easily
FRANCE v ITALY – Click here to bet
This match takes place in Paris on Saturday night and at the time of writing the weather forecast looked good.
France are following a rotational policy in this Autumn Nations Cup and that is going to make betting on this encounter a bit tricky. France were too strong for Scotland away last week winning by 7 points although it must be said the final margin flattered the home team.
Italy played Scotland at home in their only match to date and they lost by 11 points which was good enough for them to beat the handicap.
These sides met in Paris in the Six Nations earlier this year with France winning 35-22.
BETTING
France 1/7
Draw 35/1
Italy 13/2
Handicap: France (-14.5) at 9/10, Italy (+14.5) at 9/10
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Italy (14.5) at 9/10
This is not a confident call, but France are fielding a much changed and in my opinion weakened team and I think Italy can take advantage and beat the handicap.
IRELAND v GEORGIA – Click here to bet
This match takes place on Sunday and Ireland will be looking to put their defeat to England behind them with a convincing win over Georgia. Ireland beat Wales in their opening fixture, but even though they beat the handicap that day, I was not overly impressed by them.
Georgia have yet to get a point in two matches in this competition and while conditions have been tough they certainly don’t look as strong as the Georgia side of a couple of years back. The handicap has shifted slightly from (-33.5) to (-35.5) and I suspect the money is spot and that Ireland will draw clear at a point to beat the Handicap.
BETTING
Ireland 1/50
Draw 80/1
Georgia 35/1
Handicap: Ireland (-35.5) at 9/10, Georgia (+35.5) at 9/10
Suggested Bet: Handicap, Ireland (-35.5) at 9/10
