Our attention moves to the European Tour this week for the BMW PGA Championship taking place at the West Course, Wentworth in Surrey, England. We pick 4 players to take on the field.
The Wentworth Course has undergone plenty of changes over the years with a redesign in 2009 followed by another in 2016. The 2016 changes have softened the course up somewhat, but it remains an excellent all round test.
Last year’s winner, Tyrrell Hatton was 5th in fairways hit and notably led the field in scrambling and the last 4 winners have all finished in the top 10 of the scrambling standings.
Viktor Hovland tops the betting boards at 10/1 ahead of the defending Champion, Hatton at 16/1, you can get 18/1 Lowry and 22/1 and better the balance. World Sports Betting are paying out on 6 places in this event.

SUGGESTED BETS:
Viktor Hovland each way at 10/1
Hovland is in good form and he finished in the top 5 last week and returns to the course where he finished 11th on debut back in 2019. He has the perfect game for this course and although I am normally reluctant to back favourites I can’t look past him this week.
Francesco Molinari each way at 55/1
Molinari hasn’t been in the greatest of nick, but he has made his last two cuts, although he hasn’t challenged the Top 10. What attracts me to him though is his course form and he was a winner here in 2018 and he has only finished outside the Top 15 once in his last 8 starts here.
Christiaan Bezuidenhout each way at 30/1
It is always nice to have a South African interest and Bezuidenhout is playing some great golf and finished 3rd in his last start. He also has some course form, finishing 3rd here on debut in 2019 although last year disappointed somewhat with a 40th place finish.
Richie Ramsay each way at 125/1
I am throwing a real long shot here and based on recent form I can certainly understand Ramsay’s price as he has missed his last two cuts. He has always shown a liking for this course though and has two Top 10’s to his credit and last year finished in 20th. Ramsay tends to be a streaky player, let’s hope he hits a good patch here.
