Groups A, B, C and D swing into UEFA Champions League action on Wednesday night and we take a look at 3 of the matches from a betting angle.
MANCHESTER CITY v RB LEIPZIG
This is a Group A match with the other two teams being tournament favourites, Paris Saint-Germain and Club Brugge.
City have recovered from an opening day loss to Tottenham in the EPL to win their next 3 fixtures most recently beating Leicester 1-0 on the road. Prior to that they had two 5-0 home wins over Arsenal and Norwich,
Things aren’t going well for RB Leipzig in the German League and they were hammered 4-1 by Bayern Munich at home last weekend and that was their 3rd defeat in their 4 League matches, although their win when it came was a convincing 4-0 at home to Stuttgart.
These sides have never met in the Champions League.

Leipzig are struggling at the moment and City’s last 2 home games in the League have seen them look very impressive. They know that in a group with PSG they can’t be dropping points against Leipzig and I am expecting a comfortable home win.
LIVERPOOL v AC MILAN
This is a Group B fixture and the other two teams in the group are Atletico Madrid and Porto and this certainly does have a group of death feel to it.
Liverpool were in impressive form on the weekend beating Leeds 3-0 on the road and prior to that they drew 1-1 at home to Chelsea, although would have been a bit disappointed having had their opponents down to 10 men. They have taken 10 points from a possible 12 in the League.
AC Milan have played 3 League fixtures winning all of them including a 2-0 home win over Lazio last time out. Their only away game was a 1-0 win at Sampdoria.
These sides haven't met since 2016 when Liverpool beat AC Milan 2-0 in the International Champions Cup.

I am going for the handicap here again as I think that Liverpool can win this by more than a goal. They are always a formidable side at home and while AC Milan will possibly frustrate them in the 1st half, I am backing the home side to pull clear to win comfortably.
INTER MILAN v REAL MADRID
This is a Group D clash and the other two teams are Shakhtar Donetsk and Sheriff Tiraspol. Inter opened up their League campaign with comfortable victories over Genoa at home and Verona on the road, but they were held to a 2-2 draw away at Sampdoria on the weekend.
Madrid have taken 10 points from a possible 12 they have played for in the League and on the weekend had few problems seeing off Celta Vigo at home 5-2. Their only points dropped this season was away at Levante where they drew 3-3. Three of their four League games have had at least 5 goals in them.
These sides met in the Champions League in 2020/2021 with Real Madrid winning home and away.

Inter Milan are very slight favourites for this game, but I think it is going to be every bit as close as the betting suggests and a draw wouldn’t be the worst result for either team.
