The remaining semi-final spots will be decided on Wednesday night when the Champions League Quarter-Finals 2^nd leg games take place and we take a look at each of them from a betting angle.

In the previous round they had seen off Sevilla 5-4 on aggregate in two thrilling legs and both teams have found the back of the net in Dortmund’s last 5 European matches and they warmed up for this encounter with a 3-2 away win at Stuttgart in the League over the weekend.

Manchester City got the win they needed in the 1^st leg, but would have been disappointed to have conceded the away goal. They had no such problems in their last 16 encounter beating Monchengladbach 4-0 on aggregate. One stat which jumps out from City’s away matches in Europe this season is that they are yet to concede a goal.

Domestically they appear to be cruising their way to another title, however they did lose 2-1 at home to Leeds on the weekend.

I think the bookmakers are under-estimating Dortmund here, who were very unlucky to lose the 1^st leg. They have an excellent record at home and although they come up against a very strong defence I fancy them to get amongst the goals and to put the pressure on City.

Liverpool were disappointed to go down 3-1 away to Real Madrid in the 1^st leg in a game where it is fair to say they were outplayed for large periods. They had been far better in their last 16 match against Leipzig, winning 4-0 on aggregate.   Past seasons Anfield has been something of a fortress in both Europe and domestically, but they have been battling at home of late and will be relieved to have beaten Villa 2-1 at home on the weekend.

Real Madrid saw off Atalanta 4-1 on aggregate in their last 16 match and they have only lost 1 of their 4 away matches this season. They are also coming off a confidence boosting 2-1 League win over Barcelona in Madrid over the weekend.

For this bet to arrive Real Madrid need to avoid defeat, something I think they can do against a Liverpool side still not firing on all cylinders at home. Real Madrid can take advantage of the fact that Liverpool have to push forward to get amongst the goals.
