BettingDiaryThe FA Cup final takes place at Wembley on Saturday and we take a look at the match between Chelsea and Liverpool from a betting angle.

CHELSEA

Chelsea booked their spot in the last 4 with a comfortable 2-0 win over Crystal Palace. They triumphed by the same score in the last 16 beating Middlesbrough 2-0 on the road and their stiffest match was in Round 4 when they were held to a draw at home by Plymouth eventually winning 2-1 in extra time.

Chelsea currently sit 3rd in the English Premier League and were too strong for Leeds in midweek beating them 3-0 on the road. That broke a run of 3 successive Chelsea matches without a victory.

LIVERPOOL

Liverpool were slight underdogs in their quarter-final match away at Manchester City, but they came out on top 3-2. They had previously beaten Nottingham 1-0 on the road in the last 16 and they opened their FA Cup campaign with home wins over Norwich, Cardiff and Shrewsbury and in each of those games they conceded 1 goal.

Liverpool beat Aston Villa 2-1 on the road in the League in midweek, but on the weekend they dropped points at home to Tottenham when the sides finished 1-1 and their English Premier League race looks over.

FA CUP FORM

Chelsea are playing their 3rd consecutive FA Cup Final having lost to Leicester City and Arsenal in the last 2 years and their last victory came back in the 2017/18 season when they beat Manchester United. Liverpool’s last appearance in the FA Cup finals was way back in 2012 when Chelsea beat them 2-1.

HEAD TO HEAD

These sides last met in the EFL Cup with Liverpool beating Chelsea on penalties back in February and in the League this season they drew 2-2 at Stamford Bridge and 1-1 at Anfield. They last met in the FA Cup in 2019/20 season when Chelsea beat Liverpool 2-0.

Suggested Bets:

Over 2.5 goals at 17/20

I am expecting both of these teams to come out guns blazing and I think we could get plenty of goals.

Correct Score, Chelsea 1 Liverpool 3 at 14/1

I think Liverpool will be just that bit too strong for Chelsea and hopefully they can deliver this speculative 14/1 play.

First Goal Scorer, Sadio Mane at 11/2

This is a market I enjoy getting involved in as you always get a nice price on your fancy. Mane is a big man for a big occasion and I am backing him to pop up with the opener.
