BettingDiaryThe European Tour concludes this week with the DP World Tour Championship taking place at the Earth Course at the Jumeirah Golf Estates in Dubai. We select 4 players to take on the bookies.

The Earth Course plays to a par 72 and it is long with generous fairways. There are plenty of bunkers scattered throughout the course and water plays a role down the finishing stretch. Because of the generous fairways driving distance is usually crucial here and Greens in Regulation is also a key stat.

American, Patrick Reed heads the betting at 10/1 ahead of Tyrrell Hatton 11/1, Viktor Hovland 12/1 and you can get 14/1 and better the balance.

Selections:

Christiaan Bezuidenhout each way at 22/1

The South African has won back-to-back in his home country and he finished just outside the top 10 last year in his debut. He has had a hectic schedule and also played the Masters before 3 successive events on the Sunshine Tour and as long as that doesn’t catch up to him, I think he has every chance this week.

Andy Sullivan each way at 33/1

Sullivan was runner-up here a few years back and last year finished in the Top 10. He was runner-up in last week’s warm-up event and certainly looks capable of going close again.

Wilco Nienaber each way at 66/1

Nienaber makes his course debut, but he should be well suited due to his driving distance and if he can find his touch around the greens he will be a big runner this week. He comes off some good form in South Africa where he came so close to winning the Joburg Open and followed that up with finishes just outside the Top 10 at Leopard Creek and at Sun City in the South African Open.

Joachim Hansen each way at 100/1

Hansen won the Joburg Open and then put in a reasonable showing at Leopard Creek finishing in the Top 20. Hansen doesn’t have much course form to speak of, but did play last year and finished in 36th spot.
