SATURDAY

MAMELODI SUNDOWNS v SEKHUKHUNE UNITED

Sundowns are top of the table 6 points ahead of 2nd placed Stellenbosch, but with a game in hand. They haven't lost in their opening 11 matches, but they have drawn their last two games including 2-2 against SuperSport United in midweek and those 2 goals conceded were their first of the season.

Looking at Mamelodi Sundowns home matches they have won 5 and drawn 1 of their 6 games scoring 12 goals and conceding just 2 and overall this season Mamelodi Sundowns matches have averaged 1.9 goals each although Sundowns themselves are averaging close to 2 goals a game.

Sekhukhune are 3rd on the log and they have won 5 of their last 6 matches. They beat Royal AM 1-0 at home in their last start and their last away game was a 1-0 win over Swallows. They played 5 matches on the road this season with 3 victories and 2 defeats. Sekhukhune’s matches have been amongst the lowest scoring in the Division, averaging just 1.5 goals each and had you been backing over 2.5 goals in Sekhukhune’s 11 games you would only have collected a profit on one occasion.

Mamelodi Sundowns 5/10

Draw 29/10

Sekhukhune United 13/2

Suggested Bet: Handicap, Sundowns (-1) at 15/10

For this bet to deliver a profit we need Sundowns to win by more than a goal and I am expecting a bounce back to winning ways after the two draws. However, their defence has been breached and you wonder if more goals will flow in from the opposition, but Sekhukhune don’t look like the sort of side which is going to trouble Sundowns at the back and in the end I think a comfortable home win is on the cards.

SUNDAY

SWALLOWS v KAIZER CHIEFS

Swallows had a dream return to the PSL last season, but they are battling in their second season back and currently sit 15 on the log with just 1 win in 11 games. Last time out they lost 1-0 away at Galaxy and under 2.5 goal backers would have collected profits in Swallows last 5 games. Swallows 11 matches this season have averaged just 1.1 goals each, the lowest in the Division (even lower than Sekhukhune) and Swallows themselves have only managed 2 goals this season while conceding 10.

Chiefs are currently 5th on the log with only 1 loss in their last 8 games. Their last match was a 1-1 draw with AmaZulu, a game in which both teams got red cards. Prior to that they beat Maritzburg 1-0 on the road and they are undefeated in their last 4 away matches. Chiefs 12 matches this season have averaged 2.2 goals and they have scored 14 while conceding 12.

Swallows 12/5

Draw 41/20

Kaizer Chiefs 13/10

Suggested Bet: Kaizer Chiefs win at 13/10

Chiefs let me down in midweek, but I am going to give them another chance against a Swallows side that just cannot find the back of the net. Chiefs have scored in 6 of their last 7 matches and given this is a Soweto Derby home ground advantage won’t be a factor. Chiefs to take all 3 points is the bet.
